By the time I was 17 I had injured my rotator cuff 4 times. 2 of which were on weeks off i just woke up with pain.
Wrist tendonitis countless times.
Extremely tight hip that needed a deep tissue massage.
Knee tendonitis another few million times.
Broken scaphoid.
Alot of ankle pain.
I've gotten worse since, but hey I can still lift.

Why doesnt this guy get more attention?

What are the most commonly followed bullshit principles in fitness and diet? Which did you fall for?

Carb restricted diet is the one that I fell for hardest- there's so much evidence showing the benefits to weight loss of complex carbs, and how fat is consistently lowest for satiety because of a combination of lack of fibre, calorie density etc. There are even clinical trials showing that keto, atkins diet, cambridge diet, paleo diet etc simply don't do anything when controlled against calorie restriction.

I think people with shit diets just get caught up in the water weight loss and the calorie restriction and attribute it to their fancy new diet

So I have found out why I am short, cannot gain flexibility at all in my legs no matter how much I stretch or foam roll, and why I walk like a retard unless I consciously try very hard not to. I have cerebral palsy apparently... Just found out today. It's minor which is why I am only mildly fucked up.

I am pretty sure I have the kind that only affects my legs and not my arms, because I can type extremely precisely, am very good at spamming tech skill in fighting video games (lol), and have played the piano at a pretty good level.


Does this mean I can never gain flexibility because of the cerebral palsy? Surely something neurological can't fuck up your muscles in this way?

I have fucked up, slurred and quiet speech too. Does anyone have general tips for this kind of shit?

I am not a severe case that's wheelchair-bound or completely disabled. Just fucked up in non-obvious ways.

It is minor enough that I can "force" myself to counteract it if I try very hard, but whenever I am not paying attention the symptoms take over. As in retarded walking posture (scissor gait), slurred and quiet speech (people always have to ask me to repeat what I am saying unless I am exerting a lot of conscious effort to speak clearly), etc..

Moral question here, would you guys look down upon someone with cerebral palsy taking steroids to compensate? Because I found out I was low testosterone through bloodwork because I felt like shit all the time and had 0 gains, and started using them due to that.

I only now realize, that I have deficient hormones because of the damage my brain (and my pituitary gland) suffered at birth... I had 197ng/dl testosterone, which is half that of old men apparently, and 1/4 that of average young men...

Is "starvation mode" a meme? To what extent?

I'm on my first cut and I've been sustaining a good 2lbs lost per week, so around a 1000 cal deficit. But I know the sticky says that if you do more than a 500 cal deficit, you go into this "starvation mode" where you lose muscle before fat.

So far my lifts actually got some gains from the "noob gains", and then tapered out to a nice plateau. I don't feel like I'm losing any muscle mass doing this, so I don't see why this isn't sustainable. Is it just to early to tell?

Really, this 1000 cal deficit is exactly what I'm eating to normal satiety. The only reason I got fat was because of 2 years of alcoholism that I just ended before the cut, amounting to about 1000 calories of booze a night. I was a really light eater to begin with, and trying to eat more is surprisingly difficult. Replacing all the fast food with real food made it even tougher in that my satiety calories were at 1100 calories a day until I started forcing it to 1500.

I'm not 100% sure, but...

I've heard that if you eat a very low calorie diet that is less than what your body basically needs to keep itself alive, it will slow down some. What your body absolutely needs might be maybe somewhere in the 1000-1200 calories a day range, that's why people freak out if you go below that. Your body will try to conserve calories, so you'll burn a bit less, but obviously it still needs to burn some energy still. You can fix this by eating normally again, and it will eventually go back to normal. It's like your body has a built-in battery conservation mode to help you out during a famine.

Obviously if you see a 400 lb whale on Tumblr claiming she starved herself to 300 calories a day and now her body is in starvation mode and won't burn a single calorie, it's bullshit. But yes, after not eating enough for your body to function long-term, it'll slow down some.

If you're eating at least 1100 calories a day, you're probably fine and starvation mode probably won't happen to you. Plus, if you were starving yourself, you'd feel the effects of hunger and feel horrible. If you feel fine, you probably are fine.

And before someone yells at me, this is just what I've read or heard from other people. No personal experience with this whatsoever, so take it with a grain of salt.

Do your own homework faggot. Everyone's goals are different and body's use energy at different rates. Count them for a while and you'll get an idea of what you should be eating. Asking your question is the same as asking a random person "how much weight should I bench?" and giving no other info.

I did answer you by saying no one can answer you without knowing your goals. Macros are the Protien, Fat and carbs that you eat and in what % you eat them. This varies depending on what you're looking to do. Try downloading My Fitness Pal and track yo food while learning the information it gives you. That's an easy way to suss out what you're eating.

Hey guys I thought we had some good ideas the other day on how to meet and identify fellow /fit fellows at the gym. Some of the things outlined.

1. Wearing of certain color shirts on certain days
2. Special conversation starters (felling fit today
, yah I'm just a lucky guy)
3. Writing /fit related memes on your weight lifting belt.
4. Put some sticker on your water bottle.

I thought about this some more and had some more ideas.

One idea is instead of doing short colors we have shirt styles. Like Monday you were a video game shirt. Tuesday is a football team shirt. Wednesday is cut off sleves, etc.

Another idea is that maybe after a good lift you can throw out a hand symbol. Like 4 fingers in the air for 4chan.

What other ideas do you guys have.
