Can I make much progress with just a barbell, and no powercage or rack?

you can deadlift, you can clean and press, you can floor press assuming you can wiggle under the bar, you can row, you can do front squats with relatively light clean-able weight, you can do lunges
>>39733919
You won't be able to do squats with any real weight and you won't be able to bench.
Yo, what is the general opinion of tattoos here on /fit/. It seems like it's not fairly uncommon thing for guys who are cut to get some ink done.
>>39733811
Usually tattoos are seen as a way to identify a shallow person - as in, you can't reel anyone in with the things you say, so you put things that might look interesting on your body.
Ultimately a low class way to be "cool", but nobody is putting up flame drawings on a Ferrari.
I don't care much for them aesthetically but live and let live
You will never be truly aesthetic without a tattoo
> It gives you a LIFETIME of forum material/books/articles/bullshit to read.
> It is endlessly repetitive in execution, satisfying to a sperge nervous system.
> You can pretend you're somehow improving yourself while expressly avoiding that very thing.
> You will never make real "gains" so your life won't change much, no risk of becoming an athlete or anything and being out of your comfort zone.
> After workouts you'll have no energy or motivation left for anything except browsing the internet, so you won't have to go out.
> Every workout day you can centre all your activities around the lifting, meaning the entire day is basically written off. So maybe only about 3d/week you need to actually fill with other stuff.
> You will develop ugly posture and an uncoordinated body so that even your walk become repulsive to women and none will bother you. You will be completely unable to dance, for instance, so clubs are out.
> You can kit out an autistic loner cave in a garage or shed with rusty old weights and be protected from mankind.
> Your T levels and general virility will drop through the floor. Zero sex drive, impotency. You won't even WANT to get girls.
> The lifelong injuries and deteriorated joints will push you to suicide in your mid 40s and you won't have to suffer the horrors of later aging.
Lifting is EXTREME BLUEPILL conduct and I genuinely encourage you all to swallow it and give up on trying to be a slayer.

what are some good HIIT routines you anons recommend?
>>39733274
The original. Do tabata. 20 seconds full sprint, 10 seconds rest, repeat 8 times for 4 mins total.
I've used the prowler and the results have been pretty good I think. I can definitely tell that my conditioning has improved.
>>39733293
totally new to HIIT, but are all HIIT running or sprinting?
are there lifting or calisthenics HIIT programs as well? Also, if I'm following a lifting program that has me lifting 3 days a week, should I do tabata (from what I can tell, 4 days a week) every day I lift and then one, or just ever rest day?
I'm a beginner (lifting for 2 months) and that's my Routine:
>Barbell Bench Press 4x12
>Reverse Triceps Push Down 4x15
>Incline Dumbbell Flyes 4x12
>Dumbbell Triceps Press 4x15
>Incline Dumbbell Press 3x12
Can you rate my r or recommend me new exercises?

how are people attracted to this eel?
trying to diet to cut for the first time. Read the sticky and did the calculations. Then went and looked at other places with their calculations. it varies widely fro ma lowest of 1700 to a high of 2400. How can they be so different and which one am i to believe to be the right one? Been trying to figure it out for a week now and about to say screw it.
Just do 1700 you pussy
>tfw dropped 40 pounds and at the point where I'm losing all my muscle too and seem to have developed an eating disorder and people tell me I'm wasting away
JUST
>>39732588
Try one of the numbers and check your weight once or twice a week. If you're dropping too fast, increase your intake. If you're not dropping at all, lower it. It's not rocket surgery.
Look man, I am studying dietetics at uni, what are your questions and shit? If you have a tape measure handy, i can help you out with some shit. are you in the thread?

why do some people have two distinctly separate growth spurts then? and why do some people get the ability to grow a full beard at 19 but some people can't until like age 30?

Toss these in at the end of your workout.

>>39730728
facial aesthetics = your underlying bone structure.
you can change how you look by losing weight and consuming less salt (less water retention). also drink lots of water so your body doesn't hold on to it. that's pretty much it.
trimming your eyebrows, getting a good haircut, and taking care of your skin (carrots for that orange skin glow, vitamin d, etc.) goes a long way with your facial aesthetics.
but to look different the only option is surgery.
>>39730728
if you aren't balding you do not have the right to be upset about any other physical feature on your body
>>39730728
Yes.
Chew normal gum for a month, then when you jaw is strong enough, chew mastic gum.
I was able to in 2 months, get my jaw strong enough to be able to flex it for the first time in my life.
On normal gum. I am currently waiting for mastic gum to come in the mail (think I may have gotten scammed kek, been like a month) to start it for extra gains.

>facial aesthetics = your underlying bone structure.
No.
>but to look different the only option is surgery.
If only there was some sort of muscle in your jaw that could be trained like all other muscles?
BEFORE: (jaw so weak in photo I can't even flex it)
>no female transformation thread
Let's change that.

Is no pain no gain a meme? Do you have to get muscle soreness?
>>39730078
No, you need to overload progressively, muscle soreness typically accompanies pushing yourself, but with good nutrition and stretching it doesn't have to.
For most beginners DOMs is unavoidable simply because they haven't used those muscles before
>>39730092
I've only been lifting for 3 month and I only got sore on my first 3 days. I've been adding more weight every day too
>>39730139
dom lasts for a week for me too
its normal
My routine (pic related) has been working really well for me, that is up until now. I no longer have the same energy throughout the workout, as I expected would happen with so many compound lifts.
My question is, what's the best way to split this so that I have energy to put all my effort into each lift? I've been working out 4-5 days a week for 6 months now, and alternate A and B.
>retarded routine isn't working
really makes u think
>>39730060
Hey, as a total beginner I got great gains, enjoyed my time and didn't get injured, retarded routine or not, it worked. I knew that it would be too much volume once I got in the higher weights, so I am trying to split this with the obvious goal of lowering daily volume.
playin hockey on weekends so my routine is more athleticism focused rn:
A:
barbell Clean and press 5x3
Snatch grip high pulls 6x2
Hanging leg raises
B:
Deadlift 7-12x3-6 @70%
run stairs for 10-15 mins
C:
Plyo pushups 6x4
Dumbbell clean and press 5x5
Farmers walks 3xfailure
