I came into the gym with my bf. It was my first training session, my bf's second training session. At the end when my bf left to grab something out of the car, my trainer and me started talking and I said I moved back home and it's the first time I've seen snow in a couple years so it's depressing. He smiled and said it's depressing when you're single and have nobody to cuddle with. I smiled and he said "so u guys (me and my bf) live close by here right?" I said not really.....At that time my bf got back and so we finished signing up for an 8 week session with two different trainers. Anyway, what the heck, was he flirting??? (The trainer knew I was with my bf) Now, don't get me wrong, I understand these trainers get commission for making sales but the conversation between me and the trainer happened after the fact.

Looks similar to an injury I had. Tripped down the stairs and sprained my ankle pretty bad, with all that swelling and bruising. My suggestion is to wrap or brace it and ice, it took me a couple months to make a recovery. After that, just stay away from calf training for a while.

No, you don't. Being good at something implies that external validation is what gives confidence, but that's not necessarily the case. Some people are pretty much naturally confident, even if they're NEETs with no marketable skills.
How many of you completely removed alcohol from you diet?
I did two weeks ago ( weekend drinker) and the gains within two weeks are insane.
I intend of going the rest of this year and all next year with 0 alcohol.
Has anyone ever shifted from regular drinker to absolutely no alcohol and seen a dramatic change in fitness level?
I regularly went to the gym and generally ate healthy while drinking ( except on weekends I ate like shit) so i am expecting to see a huge alteration in my physique.
I don't even drink and this is stupid. It's your overall diet that matters.
I'm nearly 30, never drank at all in my life (no reason, just autistic and never saw the point of alcohol, so never got into it).
My body-fat and performance in the gym goes to shit if my diet and sleep goes to shit, that's it.
I'm sure you can fit in alcohol into your diet and still keep optimal performance, professional athletes do it all the time, stop being so autistic about it and have your drink if you want.

I only smoke pot, I find as long as I focus on not eating and sticking to my diet it actually helps as a muscle relaxer, and when I don't feel like eating calories I need too it can help me force them down.

Hey /fit/, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with SL 5x5 as I have been doing it for a few months now and occasionally feel as if there's room for some accessory work, aside from the pullups and dips the program recommends (which I do anyway).
Are there any specific body parts the program sort of neglects? I was thinking calf raises and reverse flyes might be beneficial.

Accessories in SL are meant to fix muscle imbalances, like if your hamstrings are weaker way over than your quads then you must add lying leg curls, SLDL, etc. since that would stop proper linear progress.
SL is a strength routine for begginers, although you can push it to intermediate strength standard level or even advanced, depending on your goals.
Adding accessory work just because it only means you are trying to turn a strength routine into a hypertrophy one to look good, on which case you should be looking for another routine

Day 1:Back, traps
Day 2:Chest, biceps, forearms
Day 3:Quads, abs
Day 4:Shoulders, triceps
Day 5:Hamstrings, calves
The reason I though it would work well is if I put one of my rest days directly after my chest day and my shoulder day I would have them decently far apart, and then I also give my shoulders more rest directly after different workouts that affect them. Does this make sense or am I brosciencing?
