I got some Inov-8 Fastlift 325 for christmas and I'm really happy. But they are quite expensive so I don't want to ruin them right away. Do you have any tips on how to best take care of my new shoes?

I ask because I sweat a lot in my feet and whenever I've had running shoes they seem to get swampy, stinky and "swampy" really quickly.

Get vans or converses nerd.

But to help you out, take the insoles out after working out and place in a dry place. Put a fan next to it if smelly.

Also invest in good socks. Find a brand that your feet like. darn tough's athletic lines are good but high$. I use nike drifits and hanes extra cools too.

I prefer deadlifting barefoot and I think the heel will help with these, I'll find out if it was worth it tomorrow but just doing bodyweight squats it feels way better than barefoot (or running shoes) like before.

But I'll look for some good socks and air the shoes out, thanks for the help

Is SS optimal for straight up strength? I'm looking to enlist sometime next year so gaining mass/aesthetics is low on my list compared to have cardiovascular efficiency.

I run x2 week, swim once, and bike 5 miles to school and am worried SS might be too much.

I'm home for christmas and eating nothing but actual home made dinner.

How can I keep my gains? No way to track my macros and I always lose a few kilos during this time of year. I need to gain three kilos by new years because of a a weightlifting meet I'm doing.

Help me, /fit/.
I have wrist pain after lifting weights or doing chinups.
At first i blamed kickboxing, but i stopped for 3 months and those reccuring pains started again. They are either in my right or my left wrist, usually on the ulnar side(like in the picture).
Can it be caused by rows with a suppinated grip, chinups or mixed grip deadlift?
When i get a flare up i usually can't do shit with a suppinated grip.
Also, cand a Methyl salicylate cream help reduce pain and heal me faster?

I'm the king of exercise related pain.
Does the pain radiate the whole way up the ulna? If so, stop doing curls.
Does it feel like it's extremely tight in that area? Look up ulnar nerve flossing.
But the best thing you can do is take 2 full weeks of and ice it twice a day for 5 days. Start gently stretching it after a week but stop of the pain returns. Good luck anon, I know how horrible wrist pain can be.

Possibly a small TFCC tear. My friend suffered similar from hyperflexing his wrist during dumbbell presses. Because it's damage to a cartilage with very little blood supply, it takes a good while to heal properly. Have a look for yourself and see what you think. If the pain is worst when pronating and or supinating your wrist, it's likely to be TFCC related.

My wrists are shit as well. I use wristbands when lifting heavy and it does the trick, give it a go.

Christmas is almost over and my depression is worse than ever. I have a whole week of lifting ahead of me but the new years is coming up and I can already feel the anxiety building again. I went to the gym for the first time a couple days ago as mummy bought me a gym card. I did 10min of running then just went around trying a couple machines for 40minutes before leaving.

I've gone 2 times since that and basically done the same thing, it feels good but some dude here recomended I start compound exercises with free weights and do 5x5 at my max.

I'm planning of trying those out tomorrow, I'm just wondering what measures I should take as to not fuck my shit up in the long run.

I'm planning just watching some youtubes videos on form. Would that be enough, or should I have a PT show me how it's done? Also curious on how/when I should stretch.
