I just watched the Rich Froning movie on Netflix
It made me want to give up on life entirely, tbph. It made me realise that truly /fit/ guys have been like that their entire lives and there is no way to compete or ever hope of getting to their level.
They are the kind of guys who excelled at every single sport they tried as kids, who were constantly active throughout their childhood and teens and got optimal nutrition and growth as a result. Their natural testosterone levels are through the roof. I was a total spaz as a kid and I've let my Belsen-tier body atrophy throughout my whole life. I'll never experience what its like to be really, really fucking fit, muscular and strong.
Not only that, but to have the psychological profile to excel as well. Froning had really pushy parents and grew up in an outdoor environment which instilled work ethic and a ruthless competitive streak in him. The lifelong validation from being an All-American Chad who is awesome at everything must create insane self-confidence which just boosts your productivity and performance even further.
I know Crossfit is a meme but Froning is a truly exceptional guy.

Is there any downside to pressing in a straight line when dumbbell benching/pressing? I notice some people do it an arc (weights almost touching at top) and some guys do it in a linear line.

I am a 27 year old desk jockey. I've been lifting a few years and made decent progress but one thing always gets in my way: inflexibility.
Thus far I've Had rotator cuff problems, weightlifter's shoulder, Patellofemoral syndrome, and a herniated disc.
What is the best way to get losened up so I can take my gains to the next level? Is there a specific program I can follow to help with this? I'm sick of not being able to move

I'm wondering what could be the benefit of running with some extra weight ?
The way I'm thinking, I'd take 10 or maybe 15 kg in my backpack or some spec jacket.
The only thing I could see go wrong is about my knees.

Did a lot of weighted marching/jogging in the army. It built up my calves like a motherfucker. I also found that normal walking and running became much easier, as I become more "light footed". But then again, I was a sedentary retard that only lifted before that. So it could be just my body getting used to walking a lot more than I used to.
