Started going to the gym recently. Been playing follow-the-leader with a friend's workout, only with bitch weights. Cluelessly going around doing exercises I can only pray aren't retarded, struggling over 15lb dumbbells, holy shit it's embarrassing. Sorry for the shitpost, but can somebody tell me it's going to be okay?

Been there, done that. It's fucking awful at first but you'll learn how to be comfortable at gym and noob gains will quickly raise your lifts above that level of weight.

Any one here calisthenics only?

I'm thinking about a basic workout of squats push-ups and such and eventually move to a weighted backpack once reps get too high

Is it possible to attain aesthetics using this method after 1-2 years? I don't care about having bodybuilder or power lifter strength just aesthetics and some muscle tone

I was a bodybuilder for 3 years but dropped it due to personal issues and haven't exercised seriously for almost 5 years, calisthenics is the only thing that really interests me

Feel free to add your routines or advice

Yes you can attain aesthetics with just calistenics
No you cant do it with just weighted pushups and squats

I love calisthenics mang.
Do yourself a favor and get a good power tower for dips and pullups. Also get a decent set of rings for ring dips. This alone can get you decent aesthetics if you keep doing different progressions.
Weighted backpack plus dips and pullups are GOAT too.

What's the best workout plan for skeletons? I'm 6'4" and only weigh 160lbs.
After posting a picture of me, people recommended me doing SS + Gomad. Are they memeing, or might it be a good idea.
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
SS is fine but you MUST add accessories, and do a bit more benching if you wanna have a good looking upper body.

GOMAD is a good idea but I wouldn't stay on it for more 10 weeks. Drinking alot of milk is still beneficial for IGF-1 after that and nowhere near a gallon is necessary.
>>
>>39888889
where can I get a hat like that?
>>
>>39888889

Obligatory read the sticky. Tho anything you'll stick to, really - SS, SL, beginner's PPL. Look up a few options, get used to the compound lifts and reassess in a few months.

Also eat a ton.

Hello /fit/,

I used to workout a lot in high school but in college I stopped and lost my definition and gained fat. I miss working out and now that I am transferring to a university with a great gym, I figured it's time to get back into shape. However, two weeks ago I was hit by a car and they dislocated my left shoulder. I went to the ER and they reduced it and it was put back into place. I know these are pretty routine but with a dislocated shoulder, there's a better chance it will dislocated again. I am worried that it will affect my workout routine and could even dislocated again in the future. Has anyone else dislocated their shoulder? Has it affected your workouts? Have any of you gotten surgery for it/is it worth it? I'm tired of being a fat boy and I don't want this shit to get in the way.

tl;dr: I dislocated my shoulder and am worried it will affect my workouts. Any suggestions?

Best advice I can offer (as someone with a history of shoulder issues) is stop just short of lockout on presses of all descriptions and replace lateral raises with landmine laterals

This seems to eliminate the most egragious issues but obviously if it feels wrong then stop

>>39888870
I think I can handle that, thank you!

How long should I rest between workouts? I generally rest 24 hours between intense workouts, but maybe a little more rest will help gain more mass.
Generally speaking, how much should one rest between workouts? Google gives me a different answer in each site

>>39888767
what kind of workouts are you doing
>>
>>39888822
Bodyweights for muscles that allow it and your average barbell. I try to make sure I train every muscle to exhaustion, especially my abs which refuse to grow even with very little fat on top of them
>>
>>39888860
so you're doing a full body workout? in that case, yes 24 hours is good. on the days you're not doing your workout, do cardio...it'll help with your ab issue.

Alright what's your thoughts on these?

I just bought a house and one of my housemates has put one of these fucking things up in my garage. Obviously my garage is not for cars, it's going to be a gym. My other housemate is bringing free weights when he moves in.

What is the /fit/ opinion on weight machines? Waste of time or should I actually put in work on this dick snapping rape frame? Has anyone ever developed a good routine?

I've been pushing myself and adding more and more weight to my lifts (still weak as fuck though) but now I'm worried I have a bad form.
Is it wise to decrease the weight of my lifts and focus more on my form?

Yes, deload and fix your shit before you get snapped

Form first. If you get to a certain weight with bad form. That muscle group can become deformed and fucked.
