TL;DR: Can I work out twice a day while cutting?

I worked out biceps/triceps today for ~1h 30min. I am currently cutting for the 7th day and I've worked out my skinnyfat body for 2 months.

I want to go back to the gym right now to work out my biceps/triceps again. Can I do it? Or should I not while cutting?

Cutting while at university is really fucking with my ability to study properly.

How can I work around this? I'm not going to give up getting shredded because too much of a weak cunt to actually cut and concentrate at uni.

Hey fit, I don't understand which is better for hypertrophy, 3x8 or 5x5. Most of the internet says 3x8 is better because it focuses more on volume, but some fitizens say 5x5 is better for volume due to using heavier weights?

Also should I be doing 1 rep maxes for every excercise I do

Did you math it?

3x8x35 lbs = 840 lbs volume
5x5x45 lbs = 1,125 lbs volume

5x5 involves more volume than 3x8. That's why when I take a break from strength building with 5x5 I do 5x10 for volume work.

higher reps are better for hypertrophy while lower reps are better for strength since you are able to lift more weight for 5 reps than 8.

5x5 is a great middle ground between the pure strength and hypertrophy work. obviously i wouldn't recommend doing 5x5 for PRs since 1-3x5 is plenty to force adaptations.

in the end everyone is different so try them all and see where you progress the most. some people will progress fastest on 3x5 while others might need to do 3x8.

so i started lifting and counting calories and i went from 260 lb dyel to 210 lb at 5'9
about to try 300 lb deadlift

now i hate myself slightly less and it feels fucking good man

do the chicken like you normally would but you can leave it a little bit undercooked
heat a bit of oil in a dutch oven or other decent-sized pot and toss in your choice of short grain rice (jasmine for me)
toast it for 5-10mins on med-ish heat
toss the chicken in with some stock (chicken, beef, w/e tickles your pickle) and salsa (og recipe calls for salsa verde)
get it to just bubbling a lil bit and scrape the bottom because the rice is gonna want to stick to it like velcro
once it's bubbling away gently just cover and leave for 20mins

1-1.5lb chicken, 1c rice, 2c stock, 8-12oz of salsa

it's like the less autistic, better-tasting version of chicken and rice
