why is mark ripetoe always mad in his forum? i find it hard to take SS seriously when its creator types shit like this
>I think you're being intentionally obtuse here. I'm not say the fat slob is In Shape. I'm not condoning his substandard miserable existence. I'm just saying that since he gets up off the pot and hauls his enormous ass around a little, he's not doing nothing with the load. He's not doing enough with the load, but he's got a lot of lean body mass (sorry, true thing) and he's got better bone density, subchondral bone, and cartilage than the 140-pound leftist sociology professor who rides his bike to class and the vegan restaurant.
i dunno who cares
Deep down he knows his vaunted squat form is ugly and unmanly.
There's lots of reasons to be angry. It's only natural. For example we should all be angry for having to endure one of the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects?all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>But at least the books are g-good though!
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King
What's your favorite abs workout?
I tried a lot of different exercises and by now none of them makes me feel anything anymore as I got used to them, but I still haven't got a visible sixpack.
Mine is eating at a caloric deficiet
hanging leg raises with plate on shins or ab wheel

Try dragon flag or front lever
Can't stand this cunt
I used to like him but in the last year he's turned into a bit of a dick. Since he was on comedine with me and deadlifted if front of arnold, he seems to think he's a superstar
Saying that I think he could have easily been 2nd at the last world's strongest man if he didn't have 3 dislocated fingers. Thor ain't shit
I just watched the documentary about him last night. I like the guy. Hope he wins next year.
He only got 3rd because Big Z wasn't competing.
Stop giving them attention just because they're DYEL and wearing leggings

Got my oats, so how does /fit/ usually prepare their oats?
>not rotating the image
I hate phoneposters so much. I should never have to rotate my head or right click to rotate it myself.

Activate them and then put them in milk

Sorry it's upright in the gallery, but 4chan rotated it for some reason
Are there any excerises to fix posture?
Like, I can sit or standup straight but it really tires me after more than 1 min, am I supposed to be strong enough to hold this position naturally throughout the day?
deadlifts
>>39928765
back extensions, weighted preferably
also, look up some things you can do at home on YouTube to fix posture, there's plenty of material out there
Squats and deadlifts. Literally.

>>39928706
Gyms are a public place, if youre too insecure about your body that you cant handle people taking snaps of you, you should just workout at home.
>>39928726
Idiot.
If some idiot started taking pictures of me across the room in the gym I'd tell them to knock that shit off too.
And it's a privately owned facility hence the owners kicking the offending party out.
Why dont you go to a library in stead of working on meaningless flesh

Do you really have that little free time that you can't challenge yourself both physically and mentally?

Do you guys look down on people who don't lift or try to better themselves physically in some sort of way?
Socially yes, but not professionally.
Not at all. Unless they are fat. I would be a lazy cunt to be honest but my crippling insecurity and self hatred somehow is integral to my gym addiction.
No. Only reason why I lift is because I'm not good at anything else.
I have a question for all of you trying to make it and those who have already done it. Did you do it all by yourself? When you were struggling with your mental problems/anxiety/autism/panic attacs or anything did you have someone helping you overcome those things?
Same goes for lifting - do you have a gym buddy, someone who you talk about this all the time and you track each other's progress, anything like that? Can a man make it on his own?
No, I have no one, but when going through hell all one can do is keep on going
>>39928338
Just do it
real changes never come just from the inside, something from the outside must stimulate you to change your mindset. but that doesn't neccessarily need to be literally someone talking to you, it can be just a change of environment, seeing and experiencing something different instead of seeing the same 4 walls of your room every day
Anyone here make their own pre-workout? I want to get into it to save some money. Any recommendations?
Isn't PWO usually just caffeine, creatine and beta-alanine?
I don't understand why creatine is added though.
Caffeine
