Is it bad advice to tell a fatty to just go into starvation to 'fix' their liver and to lose the flab?

Because isn't the liver just holding onto a fuckton of nutrients that they could live off for literally days before actually starving?
Also I read that the body going into a starvation mode where it holds onto the fat is bullshit and the experiments done (in the 50s) were badly tested (i.e. they tested on already-malnourished people)

There was a guy I read about who lost 500 pounds in a medical experiment by literally eating nothing and just eating vitamins intermittently under medical supervision. The experiment lasted like 6 months he was so fat. Even did an AMA on reddit. He said it was the worst fucking thing ever though and he would recommend doing normal diet and exercise to everyone.

Hi /fit/.
How do I go about helping an anorexic woman?
I see her at the gym sometimes, doing cardio and light weights. She is clearly anorexic, my sister used to be the same, and I want to help her.
She is clearly mentally ill. I've been experimenting for several weeks. For example last week I left a snickers bar on the treadmill she uses and watched her. She didn't eat it and picked it up and threw it away. This is clear anorexic behaviour as she was scared of the calories. I also know she looks at the protein bar machine for at least 20 seconds total each visit, showing she desires foods.
I have tried to approach her before but she got up and walked off before I reached her, and she looks intimidating to me
How do I help?

Should I be worried about such a low resting heart rate?

I do a lot of walking and am a very casual runner, but definitely not an athelete (as online guides suggest this low level of heart rate might suggest) and I'm still a bit DYEL.

Any input welcome, I know it takes a rise to about 55 over a few days and then rapidly drops but I'd assume this was due to my nerves about a job interview,as it dropped in the days immediately after.

Whats your height? As far as I know taller people have lower resting heart rates.

My resting heart rate is at 80 to 85.
As soon as I measure it I get nervous and it climbs to nearly 100

Why is everyone so obsessed with squats? Most online articles, and a lot of beginner's programs like SS, seem to think they are king. However, I also hear people on fit saying I'll end up looking like a centaur if I put too much into squatting. Also, why are squats much more recommended than deadlifts, which similarly work most of the body, if not more?

Because squats are objectively the best lift you can do for your body. As long as you balance it out with more upper body stuff instead of just bench and ohp you'll look fine.

Deadlifts are mostly glutes/hamstring with the rest of the body having small movements (quads/lats) or concentric stabilisation (core, arm, remaining back muscles)

Low bar squats develop lower body strength really well, they target almost the entire leg musculature, especially when supplemented with deadlifts

Idea seems to be shit upon but

Simply because the very high amount of volume in my routine burned off so much energy I could stuff my fat face and still run a -1000 calorie deficit.

If you're fat as fuck, why not.

I'm aware overtraining is a thing. If you have no symptoms of it, it seems logical you are not doing so.

Since there's a crazy low likelihood that you actually educate yourself, here's the tl;dr:
> keeping your buddy alive (running/repairing organs): 85-90% tdee
> physical exertion, heavy lifting: 10-15% tdee

You literally can't out-exercise a shit diet, it doesn't even come close to consuming the calories you think it does

never used a digital piano, but practicing an hour a week with a normal piano and i was decent within 4 months. It can be cut down by practicing more times a week though, i was just lazy.

I have a stomach that protrudes about as much as in the pic. If I were to drop a large amount of weight over time and lose the belly, would I have any extra skin sagging around there? Does the skin eventually go away? I'm 20, if it matters.
