What should I look for in a gym?
I just did a tour of one near my house, and here's what I took from it:

Is that normal? How are you supposed to get into this stuff when you have no idea what to even do?

Free weights up to 75lbs at least. Bench press and place to squat. Find the cheapest that'll get you those.

Cable racks, leg press machines, cable row machines, and cable pull-down machines are pretty much all you need. A machine for assisted dips/pullups/chinups when you're new can be good, too. Most of the other things won't really benefit you.

Bad. Find a gym with a big free weights section (both dumbbells and barbells), at least one deadlift platform, a couple of squat cages. You should also find a good place for you to do different body-weight exercises.

Start a good routine. Learn proper form for all of the exercises in it. You won't need to know more than that.

This is going to sound strange but start vaping CBD oil. Not too much before exercise though, shit makes you want to mellow out and chill.

I have been doin I.F. for about a week and a half. Pretty strict eating window of 2-3 hours lately. I will eat one meal thats it. Im a big nigga 6f3" 268 lbs. I do not workout. Just work. How long until I start seeing real results? Also any advice is appreciated

you should aim for a 36 hour fasting . So let's say you eat at Monday at 10 in the evening, don't eat anything on a tuesday and start eating(pref something light as your first break-fast meal) on Wednesday morning. That's how you rip most of the benefits
Are you counting calories and tracking your macros? If not, you still need to do that.
And lift too, or else you'll lose the weight and just look skinnyfat.

Also how do you count the weekly volume for the specific muscle groups? I know that for the quads you count all squats and all that, but what about deadlifts for example? They work quads, but not too much, since the knee flexion is little. Or pull ups for biceps. Do they count?

If you are really dedicated macro counting works wonders if not stick to calorie counting if even that is too much go keto or some other meme diet.
so do deadlifts have any carryover to squats? and where do you place your hands when you ohp? i ohp close grip ( the very start of the knurling)
In my experience squat carries over to deadlift.
I was stuck at like 250 deadlift back when I barely squatted, when I started squatting 2-3 times a week my deadlift shot up to 3 plates.
Also on OHP your hands should be shoulder width on the bar
well you see, i started stronglifts a month ago and im squatting a little more than im deadlifting, so i wanted to know if my dl will make my squat better. sometimes i feel it in my lower back when im squatting heavier.

I'm starting to hate the gym, especially having to eat so much.
I have been lifting or 6 months and have made decent progress from when I started but I am constantly stalling and I'm getting incredibly sick of eating so much and lifting in the 1-5 range. I used to enjoy working out. I don't understand what's normal anymore. There's so many conflicting opinions. I have gained 10 pounds in this time, Is that low or normal?
My form has been checked by a strength focused personal trainer, and even though I'm doing things pretty damn close to what I'm supposed to, I constantly get injured in some way. It's either a tinge deep in my shoulder or a weird almost pain like sensation under my knee caps.
The combination of constant minor injuries, strange joint sensations, fear that I'm doing permanent damage from squats and deadlifts, and hating how the 1-5 rep range feels has made me incredibly frustrated.
Even though I lift baby weight should I just go for the 8-12 range? I want a decent strength base but I'm not sure if I can do it anymore. I'm not supposed to hate the gym, right?

Rep ranges don't make the difference you think they do. If you're still grinding through failed sets on SS after 6 months you're doing it wrong. You're probably only making strength gains because you're gaining weight.

You dont' have to lift weights
You can just do a basic military style or calisthenics workout and do some jogging or find a sport or active hobby.
Fitness isn't gym plus lifting heavy shit.
Thinking like that will lead you to equaing personal fitness and the personal responsibility and selflove that would drive you to be fit and healthy as something bad and something to avoid.
Not every pain is an injury, sometimes just working through it will get rid of it. I used to take a week off if my shoulders started bothering me, as soon as I came back the pain started back up but eventually I started just pushing through and my shoulders don't give me issues anymore.
If you're on a SL or SS type program maybe switching to a 5/3/1 variant would help kill the stalls.

Lol maybe you're naturally a poor endurance runner. I ran for the first time since high school(6 years) and did 4km without stopping in 25 minutes, 2 sessions later I did 4km in 22 minutes without trying to run faster. I also used to smoke a lot but quit a year ago.
How long have you been running for, and are you running effortlessly and conserving energy?
i smoked for years up until the day i left for boot camp. it definitely held me back but the towards the end i started outrunning unathletic people
