I know there are alot of you that exclude cardio intentionally but I'm looking for research on strength training vs cardio for cardiovascular health.

Obviously any exercise is good for health and even for your heart but I'm wondering if cardio is significant enough to add due to a weak heart or normal strength training will suffice.

Do you guys include or exclude cardio, why?

I was watching some scoobert, and in one of the videos he mentioned something called the "afterburner" effect. Wherein he says that if you do cardio everyday for at least 35 mins or so you will lose another 400-500 calories worth of energy during rest through a raised metabolism.

Does anyone have any papers or could confirm this? I thought only weightlifting had that sort of effect.

What are your favorite tricep exercises? I've been doing skull crushers as a supplement to standard bench press, but I still don't feel like I'm getting a great workout.

This is my routine for that day

Not sure if youre in the US, but ever since the health care "reform", I hear a lot that doctors are basically cutting back on meds for everyone. Not sure why though. Either they were just giving them out to everyone before, or its a cost cutting measure.

It started for me in college, rockstar came to my uni and gave out two free cans per student. It was a game to us and we kept going back for more, stocking the dorm mini fridge. fast forward to my enlistment after dropping out, I was cramming ripits and pit bulls to stay awake on patrol, when got back home and out of mil it got even worse. Two/three cans a day for the last three years. This picture is what I've drank over the last two days.
I've tried stopping before, longest streak was 6 days, cracked when my daughter was born and had to stay up. I need to stop its the worst thing I could be doing to my body. Any advice besides I'm an undisciplined pussy? I'm ready to commit, not try. I guess really I'm just asking for help dealing with withdrawal not help quitting.

don't steep the tea for much longer than 5 minutes or else it'll start to get bitter. Avoid making southern style sweet tea, it's just a bunch of sugar. I like loose tea rather than bagged since loose leaves are usually fresher.

I dunno man. See how your body responds to caffeine withdrawal. It might be a week or 2 of headaches and feeling tired but it's gone after that.

This is kind of long and dumb but I need to ask/vent, been aggravated about this all day

>be skelly and unaccustomed to exercise (want to get into the gym this year though)
>also shy and basically a mute with most people
>hurt my arm/shoulder (not seriously) and told to go to physical therapy by doc
>have to pay 45 bucks for one hour every fucking time, two/three times a week
>most of the phys. therapists don't seem to know what they're doing/don't care
>for example, one person hooks me up to these electrodes to stimulate my muscles but they always fall off and I end up getting left alone for like 15 minutes (and yes she knows they fall off)
>or they massage a place for 5 minutes, give me about 4 exercises to do and walk away without paying any attention to me so I have no idea if I'm doing the exercises correctly
>then tell me to leave
>overall annoying and doesn't feel remotely worth the money

I know I'm not a serious case but if I'm paying these people they can at least pay attention somewhat, right? Am I crazy for that?

Now to my other point:

I DID request him, but the schedulers fucked up today and I got the fucking electrode lady again. I was mad as fuck. I talked to the schedulers and they said they'd make sure I'd get him next time but who knows really. The whole thing's fucked.

Having said that, asking about lifting seems like a good idea, yea.
