Once you become an intermediate lifter and have reaped all you can from a beginner routine, is following an actual program necessary to 'make it' if your goal is aesthetics? Could I not just train instinctively? So long as diet is exactly as it should be would I not still make gains following basic principles like progressive overload?

I do Jiu Jitsu, it gets you going so in that sense it keeps you active. Plus it is useful, you only really need a guy on the ground then you can run away irl.

My depression has killed my appetite and i find it near impossible to bulk because of it. To make it worse, the only way i can stave away the depression is with my running high, which means a lot of running, which in turn means I have thick legs but no arms.
How do I make up for my small arms and eat enough calories?
