I am 29, 170cm, 82kg in pic related.

I want to cut down to 72kg in 20 weeks time (0.5kg per week)

What does /fit/ suggest calorie wise? Calculators give me anywhere from 2,100 to 2,300 calories to achieve 10kg fat-loss in 20 weeks.

I lift 5 days a week.

PLEASE don't turn this into another shit-fest argument like the other thread I made which gave zero information besides pieces anecdotal evidence that don't mean anything.

0.5 kg/week is a good goal
use a calorie calculator as a guide for where to start but none are truly reliable
the best way to do this is to weigh yourself daily (same time e.g. after morning dump, before any food/drink)
use your weekly average to gauge progress
constant progress = dont change
less progress = drop calories ~5%

I've watched maybe 100s of hours of youtube videos, I've realized I never user any of their little tips and tricks, there's no hidden secrets, there's nothing your missing, pick a routine, track your progress, push yourself, people are jacked without watching any videos. It's strictly entertainment.

hey /fit/ what are your thoughts on adding a /pd/ page to 4chan? /pd/ just being overall Personal Development, not just fitness. Being fit doesn't make you no-longer a pleb. If we want to make it, we cant just make it in fitness. Or you're no better than that nobody fitness trainer at your gym that isn't amounting to shit and has to get fucking cucked by actual people killing life. Thoughts? Let's make /pd/ a thing so we can get life gains, not just fucking fitness gains, that's the easy shit.

I don't think you need a whole new board

Just make a general about it if theres interest

seconded, there would be too much overlap with /fit/ and /adv/ for it to be worth a new board

I think it needs a new board. There's so much shit to it. Fucking endless facets that one board couldn't handle. Need to be separate threads

>How does /fit/ fight temptation when trying to lose weight?
The most effective way to avoid shitty food is being too poor to spend money on unimportant things.

The second most effective way is having good strong will...
>>
>>40440504
Drink more water
Eat more protons
Make sure your food is filling, with big volume and provides satiety

Nothing to do about the cravings, just gonna live with them and remind yourself while you're lifting. FPH threads are pretty good for that.
>>
>>40440504
I try to focus on how much i like losing weight and looking better than i do like stuffing my face with shitty food.

that being said i just ate a whole little caesars deep dish pizza and some of the cheesy bacon bites and i hate myself. gonna fast all day tomorrow to help offset it.

Does anybody else struggle with adapting to normal daylight waking hours? Back in university I would stay up all night because that's how I could function best and since classes were only a couple of hours in the day I could return to bed right after attending them.

I graduated 3 years ago and have been working regular office hours ever since but I still can't switch to living in the day. I'll be half awake all day but energetic as fuck at night. Even my gym sessions have to be at night or else I won't be able to get a good workout. Has anybody with the same situation managed to fix it or at least develop a way to better cope with it? I get 3-5 hours sleep on weekdays and 8-9 on weekends because of this and I'm probably killing myself if this continues for years.

i work night shifts semi often, aka my sleep schedule is more fucked than yours. yet i always return it to normal doing the following

1. have a huge meal, it's well established in science that your body's circadian rhythm follows your eating schedule.

2. Cold showers

3. 0 caffeine. Ever. It fucks with your ability to get proper rem sleep

start waking up at 6 or 7am. It'll be hard at first but just get through it. Try do some cardio early in the morning or stand outside smoking a pack of cigs, just get the fuck up and stay up.

Make sure you're not vitamin deficient especially zinc and magnesium

enjoy your permanent sleep control method. keep it on the DL i am literally a superhuman who works 2 jobs using this method.

Should you do OHPs inside the power rack? Note I have my own home gym so this isn't an issue of hogging the rack

I can't extend them 100% to the top when I do it inside the rack, it's blocked by about an inch, but are you supposed to, is it safer?

as long as you aren't afraid of dropping the weight in worst case ontario, you can essentially do it anywhere
it would probably fuck up certain types of flooring though so keep that in mind

how can you possibly be in danger during a strict over head press? what you need is a place to hold the bar thats above your chest so that you dont have to clean the bar to ohp, thats it.

Female bodybuilders lose their tits if they lift enough or use gear so I'm sure you can if you're willing to do whatever it takes.

I have a hunch 99% of people complaining about gyno don't have gyno and they're just weak willed can can't cut enough to get rid of fat in this unfortunate place. It's unlucky distribution not gyno.

Buying a bar, don't want to get a cheap garbage on so that I can have resell value in the future if necessary. Any suggestions?
27 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Any bar that's 7 feet long, weighs 44.1 lbs and has a diameter between 28 - 29 mm will do.

Typically in the 250 - 400 CAD range, one with bushings in the sleeve works fine, no need for fancy bearings if you're a novice or intermediate.

Bearings become important when doing some serious cleans, for anything else bushings will do. Last longer as well.
>>
Also pay attention it had the kind of knurling and spacing you want.

Some bars don't have knurling in the middle and it makes for awkward squatting, likewise some bars have knurling where the shins go in a deadlift, and that's no good either because it will tear up your pants or shins.
>>
Looking at the website you provided I would recommend the Ohio power bar for overall versatility, even though it's outside of regulation specifications (slightly too heavy)
