/fit/ what's your take on buying your own workout equipment and making your gym at home.
The only option for me for a gym (that has a FUCKING squat-rack because everything around me is planet fitness) is NYSC, which is pretty pricey and sucks dicks. There's so much bullshit in fees and if I don't like it, that's another fee to cancel. In the long run, I save money buying my own equipment.
Don't gotta worry about when the gym opens or closes.
Don't have to worry about shit being too crowded or equipment being hogged.
Don't gotta worry about damaged or dirty equipment.
No hygiene problems with other people.
No smelly unsecured locker room.
I have no problem working out with other people, i tend to like the vibe and when I did so in High School at a local Rec center, everyone there just tried to encourage and help, so that's not really an issue, but I can also work out alone just fine.
Only disadvantage is not being able to ask a random person to spot me (and even then, most of them don't fucking know how to spot).
I pretty much consider it a no brainer to just buy your own squat-rack and bench.
However, I have NO IDEA what to trust in terms of quality.
What do you guys recommend? I'm only doing Barbell training right now, so I just primarily need a squat rack and a bench for bench press. I'm also always confused as to whether or not some of the pricey options INCLUDE the weight plates or not, and how much they cost. There's a huge amount of variation and I'm getting no where searching for things myself.
General home fitness discussion is welcome, but I'm more concerned with the equipment. I really want to buy my own rack

I had the cheapest get up (bench bar and bells) and made great gainz, but my leg work was heavily lacking. lately i've managed to get my hands on a proper cage, and I regret all the time I couldn't do regular squats.

I'm not asking if i SHOULD do it, I'm asking for recommendations on equipment. I'm relatively poor, but I'm willing to drop a couple of hundred to save a thousand in the long run; signing up for some shitty over priced gym membership.
All I need is a squat rack (that can also do bench press, unless they all by default can) and the weights themselves, but I need to be sure of what I'm buying because it's a lot of money.

But you will probably stall pretty quickly simply because you aren't giving yourself enough time to recover.
It'll work fine for the first week or two, but the weights get heavy feeling fast on SS.
There is no point in doing it like you plan to.
If you want to do this because you enjoy being in the gym, then find a 5 day routine that is designed to be done over 5 days.

Is it possible to reverse myopia by wearing a slightly underpowered (0.25) prescription and keep reducing it every six months or so? Some people on the internets advocate this, they say that can eye can shrink as well but we don't allow it to by wearing prescriptions (and getting stronger ones like good goys).

You just have to remember that it happens.
When you're still relatively new to lifting, every workout feels special and important.
After lifting for years, you start to realise that the bad workouts are no big deal.
Just go back into the gym next workout, and hit it hard.
Don't make any drastic decisions based on one (or even 5) bad workouts.
Check your diet and sleep is not slipping, and keep at it.

I got some pretty bad bone bruising and a possibly torn ligament (splint for three weeks then i'll know for certain) in my wrist. I got two opinions, one doc says I'll be good to go in a month, another says I may have to drop lifting. I'm extremely worried this will hurt me well into the future. Im trying to accept my life will be a mostly unpleasant struggle and find the gems within it and learn to appreciate my self and hobbies more.
