HIIT vs LISS. Which is superior in terms of everything?
Shield wall edn.
HIIT for burning fat and sprints, more useful during cutting or if you're interested in a sport where you need to be able to sprint a greater distance or at a greater speed.
LIIS for increasing cardiovascular endurance and not wanting to put a bullet in your temple, more useful during bulk.
Never cut out either, cardio is good for you and you should always do both. Though just adjust the amount you do either for your goals.
I'm doing an ABCABCx PPL split right now. This is actually hilarious, but my butt is big in my pants and it kinda looks weird. Also, my biceps and triceps have been lacking a little. So, I was thinking about switching my routine to ABCDABx where D is an arm day. Watchu niBBas think?

what is the basic difference between working for gains vs strength?
I feel like I've gained a ton strength, increased weights over the months but barely got any mass, still look puny
Yeah. I don't know what I'm doing. I just eat pizza, don't train hard, and the magical fairy gifts with me decent gains. #TrainHarderThanMe #BetterThanYouBehindClosedDoors

Should have commented on the thing, doh.
Left side is the exercise, right side is the mobility for that exercise, you do mobility between reps
FSAS - Fundamental Straight Arm Strength
FBAS - Fundamental Bent Arm Strength
FLS - Fundamental Leg Strength
the numbers like 5x60s means mastery for the movement, in this case you look at 60s/60rep template and follow that progression, once you hit mastery (can do 5x60s) you move to the next level
for negative movements, 5x5x10s means you descend for 10s each rep
100kg DL after the 3rd rep my grip fails
dont wanna use mixed grip or straps yet
feel like i should do lighter weight and try holding the weight as long as i can at the end of the rep for more grip gains?
also got a gripper

no but really i love lifting heavy without straps, makes me feel alpha as fuck
>>40548352
also i can barely do 100kg for 5 reps but my gripstrength is fine.
Maybe its the pullups and hanging I do that helps it
>100kg DL after the 3rd rep my grip fails
hahahahahahahahahahh
Any medfags here who can help me out? I know scabies is supposed to itch like crazy, but mine don't itch, not one bit, yet I have the weird skin bump lines which are supposed to indicate that the parasites are burrowing in my skin or some shit. Any help here from people who are experienced in this field/have experienced scabies before? Is it something completely unrelated or what? Feel free to ask questions
How long have they been there?
What were you doing the day you first noticed them, and the day before?
Anything new added to your diet, day, supplements, or anything changed in your life recently?
>>40548078
A couple of months for sure, I had some weird eczema on my palms before they appeared, didn't itch either, it was just dryness on my palms, then the weird spots started appearing on my wrist and kinda spreaded down my arm, no other symptoms though so I find it odd that others have said it's scabies.
What are you supposed to do between sets? I stand around awkwardly with my hands on my hips and stare at the equipment or the floor in front of me. I never go on my phone unless it's to skip a song.

Depends on what im setting, if its legs or abs i tend to do some hamstring stretches, if its anything bench based i do these quick sort of crunches where i sit up and bring myself down and up to my lap really quickly.
Anything to keep blood pumping.

No, they are quite possibly the single best accessory for deadlifts and squats, do both the standing and seated version.

How do you do it /fit/?
It's been almost 2 years since I've visited this place and it's almost as if this is the only place left to go
Let me take you back to 2014,
I was an very active lifter
My lifts were at the highest they'd ever
B:130, S:170, D:205
I'd spend 2-3 hours at a time in the gym 4 days a week
I was 19 years old, 6'4" and weighed 110kgs (242lbs) @ 16/17% bf and I'd competed in powerlifting a couple times before
I was always THE GUY at the gym
I knew everyone and everyone knew me
I always helped where I could and was there to talk to anyone of they ever needed it
The gym was my life and I thank /fit/ for helping me
About mid 2014 from a combination of heavy weight, stubborness and bad form I injured myself
I was training for a competition at the end of the year
I had always had a bad back and I guess powerlifting didn't help
plus with the competition looming near I had to bump up the weight I was training at - which contributed to the bad form.
The injury turned out to be a bulging disk
The pain was so bad I was literally walking with a cane and at a right angle for months
I met with the neurosurgeon and after talking to him for a bit we decided on having surgery
The surgery is called a microdiscectomy, where they basically shave the disk back so it no longer is pushing on the nerve
I was put on a year waiting list but I was lucky and only had to wait 6 months
( ironically the day of the surgery was the day of the competition )
Thanks to a combination of endone and oxycondone I dropped from 110kgs to 95kgs
I took about 4 weeks to recover to a point where I could stand
I kicked the drugs at 8 weeks post surgery as I didn't need them and didn't want to rely on them
After stopping the painkillers I regained the weight I had lost and more
At this point I weighed around 120kgs
I also just started my first year of uni and a new business at the same time
At 10 weeks I rentered the gym
I started with light weights
At this point i had been out of the gym for about 9 months
The weights felt different, there was no connection like I had before
the rage that I used to train with, was completely gone
But I pushed through
I couldn't spend hours at the gym like I used to
2-3 hours went down 30mins - 1 hour
I couldn't train my lower body due to the pain and no weight /stress allowed on my back
Surprisingly benching didn't place any strain on my back so I was left with that
Bench had always been my favourite.
I spend every 2nd/3rd day with benching in my session
You'd be surprised how much your bench will fly up when it's trained 3 times a week
I went from 70kg 1rm to a 140kg 1rm in 4 months (keeping in mind even though I had 9 months off my previous 1rm was 130kg)
But eventually the stress of my full time uni course and fI'll time business caught up to me
1 day skipped turned into 2 which turned into 7 etc
months passed where I didn't even go for 1 session
Fast forward to this year
I weigh 130kgs
I joined a new gym
stepping back in that first time brought back some great memories
but I face the same issue as before
the anger and hate that I drew my energy from, in which I used to feed off and take me to a place where no amount of weights or reps meant anything was replaced with doubt and self loathing
I can barely stay in the gym for more than 30 minutes without wanting to leave
The movements feel strange, the weight unforgiving
What used to be a warm up is now my max
I have nothing to feed off any more and I don't know how to train otherwise
So let me ask you again /fit/
How do you do it?
How do you force yourself to go to the gym?
How do you do it with no rage and hate besides what is directed at yourself?
How do you pick up the pieces of what's left of your former glory, where at one stage your peak was not good enough and now you would give anything to have it back?
You can choose to believe my stats or not but at this point I don't think it matters
>I met with the neurosurgeon and after talking to him for a bit we decided on having surgery
neurosurgeon for your back?
Most of you have a 19th century conception of the human mind. You beileve in free will, you might know there is a subconscious, but you don't give it any credit. People are "in control" of what they put in their mouths and are "responsible" for their weight gain. This is ridiculous for a number of reasons.
First of all, addicts don't have free will. If they did, they wouldn't be addicts.
https://www.drugabuse.gov/about-nida/noras-blog/2015/06/addiction-disease-free-will
Classical "free will" isn't even a thing. You're a biological machine.
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/bering-in-mind/scientists-say-free-will-probably-doesnt-exist-but-urge-dont-stop-believing/
Does this mean that people are condemned to be drug addicts, smokers, and obese if any of these things happen to them? No, of course not, but don't expect people to change of "their own free will." Their environmet must be changed by force.

>>40547201
Have changed my own eating and exercise on my own. Suck my hairy chode.
I'm addicted to these dubs
Or maybe they should change their environment. It's not like you're stuck with your fat family that's dragging you down.
Is there a formula for having big arms?
Leg, ass, shoulder and back gains seem to come fairly quickly, but arms seem to take forever. Should I go full broseph and do 18 sets of curls a week?
>>40546909
You're gonna have to swallow your pride and go full Rich Piana mode.
Low weight/high reps, dropsets, supersets, replace your leg day for arm only day.
Tyre flips, Heavy Farmers and other strongman type work is MANDATORY.
I know many of us who learned to lift from /fit/rippetoe were indoctrinated into Hating curlbros but you're gonna have to embrace the dark side if you want arm gainz.
>>40546909
You do curls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXwm62SiLQ8
>>40547011
>tire flips are mandatory
Wew
>that guy who is so concerned what others think of him that he takes a shower BEFORE going to the gym
Let's take a moment a laugh at that insecure faggot lmao
I don't ever leave my house before taking a shower, for anything.
>>40546844
Do people actually do this?
I've learned so many strange things about normies recently. Like how some of them will say stuff like "I got groceries" or "I read a book" when asked what they did rather than just saying they didn't do anything.
That's me, but it's more of a habit than anything
Hey. I'm wondering if you guys think I'm fat. And if so, which part of my body is holding the excess fat? I got some more pictures if you need them.
yes but in a good way
