Guys I've got a serious question. I'm sick of being overweight and want to make a change, but I've got some pretty serious club foot and asthma that always gets in the way. I've done some looking around and I'm not finding any sources that specifically deal with exercises that don't murder people with club feet. I'm hoping that somebody here can offer some advice with regards to this particular situation.

wtf can you walk
>>
>>40419300
Ye, my feet are turned the other way from those in the x-ray. I had corrective surgery as a kid that left me able to walk and run and all that junk, just not without a good deal of pain. Lost the genetic lottery on that one.
>>
If you're overweight; fix your diet. That's 90% of weight loss right there. You won't lose weight if you're eating too much. When you're at a normal weight most exercises will be less stressful on your lower body. Focus on getting to that point.

In the mean time you should start lifting weights. Squats, deadlifts, and anything that requires a good deal of balance under load is probably out. But that leaves lots of machines that will do a decent, if sub-optimal, job. Upper body stuff shouldn't be a problem. Find a good beginner strength program and stick to it. Building a base level of strength is super important. It'll make literally everything else you do physically easier. A quick google search indicates that lifting with asthma is probably just fine. Just rest appropriately between sets.

Maybe consider swimming for cardio. This abstract from this study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1470792) indicates it's at least not necessarily bad for asthma sufferers. Also it shouldn't hurt your feet.

I was working out for some months prior starting Stronglifts and now the app has told me to lower my weight by 50%, but my bench press and barbell row got too light to do have effect. Should I just stick with it or increase the weight?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Stick with it. It will help with form and build other muscles that you don't use with other exersizes
>>
>>40419261
Yes, but I don't feel anything doing 30kg bench press. Is it really effective?

take him places where he feels shame or where he cant enjoy himself. amusement parks/carnivals, water parks, night clubs, etc.

motivation has to come from within. he'll either lapse into depression and check out early, or he'll get fit.
>>
>>40419171
Keep calling him a disgusting, fat slob. Don't let him forget that he is more lard than human. Keep pecking at him, and you'll break him out of his delusions, right into the gym. No one wants to be fat.

If he still doesn't do it, then your friend is a pathetic shit. Let him know that, but don't let it ruin your friendship (If you want, I guess)

Anyone else feel like this board has ruined them mentally? I was still ugly before I came here but at least I wasn't aware of literally every physical imperfection I have, and I was a lot happier for it. I didn't constantly feel depressed about being every kind of "-let" imaginable. Being an autist with no self-awareness is infinitely better than being an autist with crippling self-esteem issues due to being TOO self-aware.

Greatings /fit/, has anyone here tried the garcinia pills diet before?

Can it really burn the extra fat? Says it boost
metabolism at 3000%.

Articles share different opinions about it.

Seems like the product is always promoted in pseudo science trash ads too.

How legit is this?

Fit help

Im trying out my new training-it is very short, around 15 minutes-and its main objective is to damage muscles as much as I can-which translates into exercises, that are being done until I literally drop the weights out of exhaustion, and I can feel the fuckin effect,I mean in 3 such cycles (done 2 times a day, then a day of rest) i can already see the muscle lines I didnt had before, but will it ache so much all the time?Do I have to get used to it?Can I somehow speed the regeneration process?I eat optimal amount of protein if you ask.

>>
Worth mentioning that I dont warm up.Yes,I know its a sin,but i dont have time for that shit, this training is already so fucking long for me.I dont care for the good cardio meme, what matters to me is looks and strength-cardio comes after all of this. Also is there threshold where damaging muscles wont work anymore? What to do after that?
>>
>>40417924
look into science behind training to failure. It's not necessarily a good way to build muscle to train to failure all the time. Probably a pretty bad idea.

ache will stop after a little while.

So I started back at bjj and muay thai and I know cardio is something you can always improve. I do 15min of hard rowing at the beginning of my normal workout with 5min cardio intervals in between my sets but I'm looking for recommendations. What's /fit/ favorite favorite conditioning/cardio or most effective form of conditioning that you find.

I've been at both for 6 years. Best cardio for either is obviously sparring or fast paced pad work/drilling.

To supplement, what I do is 3 days a week of lifting and at the end of my workout, I have one of 3 cardio workouts;

Tuesday stationary bike 20 minutes

Thursday 16 minutes of 20-10 (tabata) intervals. This usually consists of some combination of rowing, jump rope, burpees, kettlebell work and battle ropes

Saturday is ladder drills for footwork and weighted Squat jumps for that there explosive work.

The last drills have reality improved my footwork for muay Thai and boxing.
