I have been lifting just over a month now but only doing arms so far.
I normally do barbell curls (35kg), dumbell curls (15kg), overhead (30kg), bench 40kg, and pentley rows 40kg, all 3 days a week.
when I see progress of what others could do after a month it seems im weak compared to them. why is this? it's frustrating me, I do eat enough, and even 2 weeks ago started having protein powder.
should I increase 3 days to 5 or 6 days a week?
You should stop doing what you're doing and read the sticky.
>>40456485
I have read the sticky though. I studied it a ton before I started.

Hahaha enjoy no gains. Seriously. 95% of all gains come from the compounds. You're doing none of them.
>already masturbated two times today and it's only noon
>Dick still hard
Don't you have a job?
>>40456453
It's called being a teenager, dude. It'll pass.
Already masturbated 3 times and it's 11am here. Get on my level pleb
should I start doing ATG squats? I started lifting 6 months ago, during the first 4 months I was doing a nonsense program, last 2 months I have been doing SS.
When I started SS I realized the squats I was doing during the first 4 months were basically quarter squats. With SS, I decided to go below parallel, so I had to deload around 20-25 KG to start doing that.
2 months into SS, I was doing 92.5 KG yesterday, and in my second set, I went a little bit below than usual and failed my rep. Third set was super difficult to do (In fact I couldn't do it at all, I had to remove like 20 kg to finish it).
I mean what the fuck, if I go a little bit lower than usual, I fail the weight. This has made me realize that I should just deload 20-25 KG again and start doing ass to grass squats. Go as low as possible, and fuck everything else.
Would this be a good idea?
>>40456376
I would say yes.
in my opinion, training a partial ROM (even if it is parallel or a little below) is a big reason in why people get injured doing heavy squats. Because if you train to parallel, and go for a new PR but accidentally drop a little deeper than you're used to, shit can go bad.
You will see a lot more powerlifters with blown out knees than olympic lifters and personally I think that having a strong full ROM squat is the reason.
>>40456376
yes because when you're squatting several pl8s ATG you're gonna look alpha af

>>40456338
What exactly is your routine?

>>40456355
6 sets of squats at 2 reps
6 sets of straight leg dead lifts at 2 reps
3 sets of leg press at 8-10 reps
3 sets of bent over barbell rows at 8 reps
3 sets of dumbell flys at 8 reps
3 sets of the pulldown machine thing at 8 reps
3 sets of dumbell pullovers at 8 reps
6 sets of incline or flat bench press at 2-3 reps
plus assorted dumbell stuff, maybe some assisted dips, preacher curls, random machines, or just some extras.
sometimes do 15 minutes of cardio on a bike.
im 6'1 235 pnds and eat 3000 calories

First time on /fit/ and I wanted to get your opinion on body weight exercises.
I used to do a lot of weights at the gym and avoided cardio like the plague. After a long break - in which I had two kids - I decided to loose some weight and get fit again but didn't have the time to duck off to a gym so instead opted to walk the block a few times (4km) on a daily basis with the kids in a pram and then do some body weight movements on the back deck after they were in bed.
I only use a 10kg dumbbell for a handful of exercises; everything else is strictly body weight. I'm really enjoying it and want to work towards more of a ripped body than a bulky one.
Pic related. This is me after one month of this daily routine and loosing 5.5kg.
>>40456166
your shoulders look really small
muscle memory is magic isn't it?
I'd say lose the obliques if you want to look more toned
If you just want to be ripped, you can get there with bodyweight training, but diet is far more important than whatever type of exercise you're doing. You can't get ripped without eating the right amount of stuff.
You will never look big or strong in clothes with bodyweight only. But if that isn't your goal, then it doesn't matter.
What's the best strength program for someone who can only workout 3 times a week?
>>40456065
neck yourself 1xF AMRAP dropset
>>40456065
stronglifts 5x5

Any used's this to lose weight before planning on using it for my goals of my cut but im concerned the goals may be inaccurate. So anyone with experience is it viable to use? If not any alternative you stand by? Thanks anons
>>40456014
It's pretty good. Counted calories using only myfitnesspal for a month and lost 13 pounds.
>>40456021
Sweet gonna make the best of this cut and get under 200lb again
>>40456055
That's my goal too famalam. 6'3" and down to 217 from 238. You can do it
I get that /fit/ hates it, but I want to ask why
whats wrong with it anons?
I personally have no problem with their routine (except for those stupid ones that involes half a ball or that dual power clean, fuck that shit) but I fucking find the people in it to be pricks acting like special snowflakes and shit
>>40455954
this has to be bait
>>40455988
i-im unironically curious
Look at webm, anon. Their shoulders must be rotating in their sockets. That will cause permanent damage that only surgery can somewhat fix. Also the "kipping" they do is basic physics. By using momentum they reduce their weight making it easier to do the pullup. If they just statically went up and down their muscle strength/mass would be much better.
Crossfit does this with most exercises.
Please be very safe.
