Are those exercises a must for leg day?
Most of the programs I find include these two, but at the same time, I read a lot of bad shit about these machines.
I already do squats, and I'm looking for two more exercises that replicate the effects of those machines, basically hitting hard the hamstrings and quads.
If nothing else compares, guess I'll use them anyways.

Leg curls are mostly fine if you dont go too heavy, but please never do leg extensions, they fuck your knees

Should say never go heavy. I find them great at lower weights for getting a real good negative and contracting the vastus medialis hard.
Can I make gains if I can only go to the gym on the weekends /fit/? My new work schedule only allows me to go to the gym on weekends because the gym is almost a 1.5 hour walk go get there and I don't have time to do that on workdays

despite being vegan, i'm indoctrinated pretty hard into the paleo nutrition stuff. i've read books like wheat belly and follow a few paleo blogs. denise minger is my girlcrush. and on monday i'm starting a college nutrition class! which i just know will be full of whole grains recommendations and sweeping generalizations about veganism (basically that vegan = good, without really delving into the vastly different KINDS of vegan diets there are) and idk.
should i be super skeptical and go into class expecting it to be shit? or will this actually be a good learning experience lol. i'm maybe considering going for my RD but that's a long time from now idk.

My squat seems to be really weak in relation to my other lifts.
the thing is though, I only do high bar squats and front squats and go way below parallel,is it alright then that my squat kinda equals my bench press? I don't even skip leg day.

Best ab workout hands down is cable crunches. Go heavy as you can, people who say going heavy on abs isnt effective have never tried it

I used to have the best gym partner. Had similar ideas of working out, loved squats and deadlifts and would dedicate entire sessions to them. He was stronger than me, which motivated me to catch up. I could share dank fitness memes, laugh at people doing dumb shit at the gym, and eye those cardio bunnies.
Then I moved, and don't live close enough to a "real" gym, so I have to go to one of those outlet shopping area gyms that has one room and only a few things of free weights. Coworkers aren't into fitness and do dumb shit and clearly need to read the sticky.
