I've never posted on here but can't really think of a better place to ask so you're all I've got
Trying to lose some weight and starting off with cardio but I'm getting immense pain in the lower parts of my shins after certain runs
Feels like they're about to explode when I run but I can walk no problem, is there something I need to be doing to try and ease the pain or is it a case of waiting for them to heal and then run again and they'll slowly get better and used to it

Can anyone give me one good reason why I shouldn't become a masked vigilantly? I've been thinking about it for quite sometime now, and I personally can't come up with any downsides myself but I just thought I would ask the voice of reason /fit/ before making the financial plunge of buying all my gear.

I have been working out for over 4 years now, both bodybuilding and strength training as well as having 2 years experience of amateur boxing. Does fit think this would be a good way to put my gains to work?

I've not talked to anyone I know in real life about this apart from my therapist who seemed to be quite supportive (although I think she thinks I was joking), so any feedback is appreciated.

I've been lifting for years and I never got one thing: how to determine how much to lift. I'll explain.

I've heard the maxim of training to failure, pushing yourself to the limit etc. So I've always done that. Problem is, if I do 10 reps on the first set and that's failure, there's NO FUCKING WAY I'll be able to do another 10 with less than 3 minutes rest.

This has always messed me up. Should I lift less and do 10 and have it not be failure? That always felt like a fucking warmup.

The way I dealt with it was to do reverse pyramids and just drop the weight with every set, but is that how it's supposed to be?

I don't get it. What's the standard way of doing this? To only fail on the last set?!

Personal trainers at gyms are all about business. They're going to stunt your progress so you have to rely on them longer and they make more money off of you. Even if they do genuinely want to help you, many commercial gyms have mandatory routines they have their trainers run people through for liability reasons (machines and more machines).

The only person you should rely on besides yourself when it comes to fitness is someone who runs their own place and is more like a coach. Learn the difference between a coach and a personal trainer.

I've got a slew of unknown health problems that don't show up on blood tests. My body seems to be doing little to fix anything. I drink lots of soda and eat lots of sweet things.

What can I eat to remove all the toxicity from my body and get myself healthy again? I don't care about muscle or gains, I just want my body to be closer to how it was 10 years ago.
