Guys I'm fucking sick of myself I just can't do it any more.
I used to be on the right path a while ago. I lurked here for years. I went to the gym 4x a week. I lifted, I cardio'd, I dieted for months. I know what I need to do, I know nutrition I know form I know all that shit.
The one thing I lack is self motivation.
Right now I'm at my fattest. Which still isn't hamplanet or anything but it's not acceptable. I have tried to re-embark on this journey multiple times. Some times it's a day, sometimes it's a few weeks but I always give in and almost just forget all of my promises to myself to change.
I have literally written this shit down. daily caloric goals, weekly weightloss aims, macros all that shit. Just to ignore it a week later. I then forget about my health for a few months and every now and again I remember "oh yeah I was gonna lose weight" meanwhile I've gained another stone.

Depends entirely on your stats, routine, bf levels, genetics.
The gist of it is eat 500-1000 cals below maintenance and keep lifting. If it's kicking you in the nuts reduce intensity while reducing volume.
Up the proportion of cals you get from your diet. While bulking I'm pretty happy on 1gram per lb of bw. Cutting I up it to 1.5. Eat carbs only around your workouts.
Some people like IF or keto, but I find I totally tank without some carbs. If it's your first time just do as suggested above.

I prefer your method, making the lifter actually put in maximum effort and I tell my spotters to help like that. But not everyone does, and some people think a spotter should help way more. I found just asking if they want help/telling them not to touch the bar unless you fail works best
