Shakes don't matter. All that matters is you get 0.8 g protein per lb of bodyweight. Everyday. Even on rest days. If you need shakes to get to 0.8 g, then do it.

While I love lifting and eating healthier, doesn't the burden of knowledge kind of come with it? If I go to a restaurant, I'm afraid to just eat until I'm full because I know damn well food that delicious is going to be loaded with carbs, fats, and oils. If I just ate as much as I felt like eating I'd totally blow my calories. Does anyone else get the feeling that you can't just let loose and not worry about what you're eating for a while?
And don't tell me about flexible dieting or starving myself for my other two meals, that takes the enjoyment out of the experience. I should be able to enjoy a meal with the reassurance of knowing that I won't have to be hungry the rest of the day.

Nope feeling a little guilty about known vices is just part of being an adult. Balance it in a healthy way and you can not feel guilty most of the time and still indulge some of the time. Also instead of starving yourself you could always just double your treadmill time/intensity or play more basketball whatever. You don't have to be linear in your thinking about food intake as long as you're willing to work more.

Is there a natural way to increase your pain tolerance? I train as a boxer but don't do any matches. My coach says I'm the heaviest hitter that goes there so I should try some spars but I'm afraid I'll end up teary eyed after getting hit like a little bitch. 6'4" 210lb so would be going to heavyweight division.

It's been stated that Coconut oil can help with weight loss because it stimulates the metabolism and also helps the thyroid gland. Has anyone tried this before. I started using organic coconut oil to cook eggs and they surprisingly taste good.
