There's no medical or health board so I'm posting it here.

Are you doing your isolation exercises anon? while many people mock them here on /fit/, in the real world you need to do your curls and lateral raises to get the broad shoulder and defined arms. Also it might be your pose on that pic but your lats are lacking, are you doing your enough volume for your back, aka at least 4x10 pull ups? or do you believe the meme that the deadlift 1x5 is gonna give you most of your back gains? Also please don't tell me you are doing all your sets for 5-6 reps.

Hi /fit/, I'm currently about 60 kgs, 180 cm and looking to bulk. I already have the diet in order (Only clean shit, but still over 2500 cals a day)

Are bodyweight exercises enough?

No they are not, the problem with bodyweight exercises is how to manage progressive overload. If you can only do 1 pull up right now you wouldn't be able to add another rep the next session. Even for easy exercises like push ups things become messy, if you only are able to do 20 push ups you would have to add one more each working session. With time this becomes unsustainable as you would end up doing hundred of push ups which works well for endurance but not for hypertrophy. After that you would have to increase weight by putting weight on you back which defeats the whole purpose of doing bodyweight exercises, you might as well just bench press. It's a good start but if you are looking to bulk in a controled fashion then a gym is the best choice.

How much time you actually spend at the gym?
I am lifting 3 times per week for nearly 6 months. I follow routine made by gym instructor. 4 sets, 12 reps in 10 different exercises for every part of the body. I've made some gains but whole training takes me fucking lot of time, almost 2h for lifting, 2,5h including warm-up, stretching and shower. I take from 1 min break after first set to about 2 min break before last, heaviest one.
Am I retarded? Is it normal amount of time? I am basicly a NEET right now, so I would waste that time anyway. I started to think about amount of time spent at the gym when girl from reception asked my as a joke if gym is my new home.

i have a real existential crisis here /fit/ and would like your gentle advice if possible. Please go easy on me, as im mentally delicate recently..


So I had this literal 9.7/10 Russian godess sexy girlfriend here in a western country. She was fucking incredible. I am by no means a ripped or built guy, maybe slightly high BMI but still leanish arms and broad shoulders, definitely not skinny fat or some ice age sid looking cuck and im 185 so ok height i suppose

Anyway i put on a massive amount of weight when i met her, going from 80kgs to 100 kgs in like 5 months, even developing stretch marks on my body. The reason? chronic drinking because i was insecure that I would lose this beauty, and I DID in the end.

ive lost basically all the weight and am almost back to as appealing as I was before I met her, but i know i'l never strike gold again like that, UNLESS i become really physically appealing.

But I feel like although i have the genetics and capacity to become physically more appealing than I have ever been (not such a high standard to obtain fitness wise) I feel that doing so will just play into the superficial whore type nature of women who would never be interested in me unless I was physically appealing to them, therefore if thats what they consider so important, couldnt they jump ship easily with a more alpha looking taller chad douchebag in the future? if thats their main superifical appeal, instead of my soul.

I also realize its basic nature to be physically attracted to someone as well as mentally, and its all a part of the healthy natural animal kingdom.
So I feel like there is this existential crisis where I want to make myself more attractive so i can find someone as great as i once had, but just feel demoralized by the fact so many hot women dont really care about YOU for who YOU are, but more for some superficial meaty shell that makes their pussies wet for a limited amount of time until finding someone else..

Insight please...

I am 23 years old, and honestly, I've been a pretty shitty dude until now.
Drug use, porn/fapping and generally being lazy have given me many regrets. A lot of fun times, but many regrets.
Luckily I've attained a job, and live in a city where I know relatively few people (only those I live with and one other friend.)
I write as a freelance writer at home, and make good money doing it.

It seems to me I have a chance to revolutionize myself. To learn, get ripped, and put myself into a semi-cocoon mode where I learn firsthand about the pain and worth of self-improvement.

I've been lifting for a week or two and love it so far.

Do you guys have any tips for a self-imposed regeneration? I want to use this bountiful free time I have thanks to my job and relative anonymity to become something greater.

This is what I have so far:

>Read literature, lots of it. Challenging philosophy, classical texts, russian novels etc. My dream is to be an author so I will study language here.
>Lift hard, lift heavy, eat well. Get lots of sleep. My body is my temple and the gym is my worship.
>Meditate an hour a day. Relate to myself more introspectively and become present.
>Completely remove pornography and fapping from my life. I'm on day 35 right now and going strong, almost feel like a new man. I plan to be rid of it forever and only gift my seed to women who I find very attractive, or who deserve it.


What else should I be doing?

It seems there's so much I can do, I'm not sure where to start. I've got all the partying out of my system, so I guess I could use Tinder or go to a bar occasionally to release my seed.

my advice as someone who did cocoon mode for 2 years before going to uni would be: dont do it

Im definitely a better person than I was before, but it was hard to jump back in. just use this opportunity to surround yourself with new better people. get some good hobbies and meet new friends through that

Weigh yourself in the morning. Make a graph in excel or use a tracker. Track your calories and don't count exercise as calories burnt. Use myfitnesspal, but don't use their stupid recommended counter find that somewhere else. You are not eating in a caloric deficit, you will continue to be fat if you do not.

And read the sticky.
