What will make my heart more efficient and lower my resting heart rate/walking around heart rate the quickest?

Is there any better alternative besides these 2?
I have POTS (woke up one day in December 2014 and my heart rate was way faster than it normally was, hasn't changed because I'm just now starting to be active) and now my resting heart rate is usually in the 80's and 90's, and standing up brings it up to the 130's. Walking around puts it around 110-120 BPM. I'd like to get it back to how it was before (not sure if it'll be a long process of getting to where I was before or if it'll just completely go back to the way it was before after I've done a lot of cardio)
