Yeah man. It started around the same time when I was 15 and played a lot football (soccer for Ameriniggers). Had to stop playing these sports.

Now I still have it, I get a lot of pain when doing pistol squats for example and I can't sit on my knees. Squats that don't go very low are fine.

If it really bothers you, you have to get surgery.

Why the fuck does everyone gotta tell me different things about which squat form is "proper"? Rippetoe says nipples should point to the floor, Thrall says basically the same thing (but only sometimes?) and Cali-Move says the opposite, to keep your spine vertical and head up.

I'm a newbie and I just feel like whatever I do, it's WRONG. Do I need a fucking degree to be able to motivate my squat form?

Nah, just squat. Don't overthink it too much, you're not going to injure yourself unless you're actively resisting the biomechanics of your body.

I squat narrow, high bar, and I've never been injured even up to 200kg. Trust me, you're overthinking it. It's not a fucking deadlift.

i go high bar, brace core, and just squat with a straight bar path.

rippletoe is extremely dogmatic in his ideas. his idea of squats is probably right for his femur/torso length, just like his "200lb for an adult male" shit is right for his build and "gallon of milk a day" is right for his goals, but he's convinced his way is the ONLY way. squat what feels comfortable for you, lets you move the most weight, and keeps your spine straight and knees from buckling.

I'm coming down rn - spent most of it with friends and walking around Austin's greenbelt. It was a good time. Definitely felt like it was the right place to do it (I live in Houston and we all came up to Austin for the weekend - even though I love it, HTX doesn't have spaces that work for tripping like Austin does).

Reminder for novices:

Remember NOT to do Stronglifts 5x5 if you're looking for a novice program.
SS is a much better alternative.

SL5x5 will waste all your newbie gains and by the time you will move on to a proper program it will be already too late, and you'll be handicapped compared to the folks who started with proper programming!!!!!!

- If you follow SL, you will have to start with an empty barbell on all exercises and add only 2.5kg at each session. this means that if you are stronger novice, you are wasting invaluable time (months) and SL is simply stunting your gains for nothing, when on SS or something else you could be already be lifting whole plates!

- Even if you don't follow the program and don't start with the simple empty barbell at the beginning, the 5x5 setup is too much useless volume for a novice, who usually only needs a minimum stimulus to grow anyway.
5x5 instead will fatigue the body unnecessarily and tamper recovery, while not giving any advantage compared to a 3x5 setup.
A 3-set setup will provide growth and sufficient stimulus without killing your recovery and will make you progress faster for longer!

If you're a novice starting now, do yourself a favor and don't fall for the SL fraud / meme !!!!!

Right now I'm doing Smolov to improve my squat. My max 1RM squat is at 75-80kg, depending on my mood of the day.

Thing is, I'm really skinny. I weigh 55 kilograms, and am 180cm tall.

I have a hard time eating food guys. I wasn't fed enough while younger (weighed 44kg in highschool, which led me to a really shitty quality of life, as you can imagine).

Do you have any idea how I could get some easy kcal to pack on weight really fucking fast?

Smolov is an advanced program, just do a simple linear progression and drink protein shakes with milk all day. Find foods you like and eat a bunch of them too, macros don't matter just get calories. Your stomach is small now and needs to be stretched, you will probably have to throw up a few times while adjusting

Just wanna say thanks. I have suddenly (literally a chnag ring the past week) started getting tons of mites now that I'm out of cocoon mode. All my male co-workers have started asking me for diet/fitness advice, and I've gotten several female co-workers commenting on how I am noticably more muscular than whichever guy I happen to be working with. This 18 year old girl at one of my jobs clearly checks me out regularly and she continually goes out of her way to remind me that she's single. At my college girls have started to chat with me out of the blue (asking stupid questions that they almost definitely know the answer to for example). Basically, folks legitimately like me more now that I'm in better than normie shape. Still dyel and nowhere near where I wanna be, but I'm glad this is paying off.

To keep it fit related, I am having a hard time hitting lats. Like, I can hit them but only if I don't do anything else first that day and I have to spend a ridiculously long time on them and by that time I've exhausted the energy required to hit my other muscle group that day, so I need some advice as to how I ought to hit them more efficiently.
