Let's put it this way: if you do the exercises she's doing, you're going to look like her: flabby and sub-mediocre.

Pick a different starter program

I'm not sure where this belongs, but how much has your improved fitness increased your confidence and social standing. There is a lot of good info on this board for improving fitness, but isn't a large part of building up yourself include things like personal confidence and social ability, after all a first impression is based upon appearance and sociability?

What social gains have you made /fit/, what are your best routines?

That's possible to quickly lose weight without lose its muscle mass? Doctors say when we do a diet, the body lose muscles in first. So we become skinny fat.
Any tip to counteract this? I talk about rapid diet, no normal diet.

My low back hurts when doing ab exercises (mostly crunches).

What do I do brehs, anyone have experience with this?
15 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
rest a few days, drop crunches for planks
>>
>>41747692
Crunches arnt good for your back, try any other ab exercise such as any hanging ab work, the ab bench machine thing, planks, twists. Like literally anything but crunches
>>
>>41747692
Crunches are mainly a hip flexor exercise, and if you have any lower back lordosis you are basically pulling your lumbar vertebra with the iliopsoas muscle, which contributes to the hip flexion movement. You should do the crunches like this: lay on your back with knees on around 90 degrees flexion, this removes the lordosis from your lower back. Start crunching vertebrae by vertebrae, reach your dick with your chin, and once you've reached the end of comfortable movement range, slowly back down to where you started. That's a proper ab crunch, for abs only, not for the hip flexors.

Hey /fit/,
Can I get some advice on fighting a sugar addiction? It's currently my biggest problem diet wise.
Currently I've been buying small snack size packets of things and having one occasionally when it gets too bad,
I don't have good enough will power to go cold turkey.

Where can I go to start learning to fight?

What is the most practical fighting discipline? I would like to learn it. I want to study the strategies, and techniques that people use when fighting. I find it really fascinating, the different moves people have available to them at every stage of a fight, and how there exists counters for various punches, kicks, and other moves people might try on you in a real life scenario where you have to defend yourself.

Ving tsun and krav maga are 100% self defense. The rest is more about winning a match
>>

Can I learn one of those in my area. I live in Pennsylvania. would I realistically be able to be trained.

I am slightly short, with a decent amount of muscle from the gym, and like 14-15% bf. Does any of that matter

When I squat I do not feel my glutes and hamstrings are as engaged as they should be. Anyone have any tips? I've attempted various techniques suggested in other threads, but none seem to work.

lately ive been doing kettlebell swings with the 40lbs to activate my glute and hips. It's been working great desu

or try some GHRs from 90 degrees to fully upright
>>
>>41746525
go deeper and squeeze them at the top
>>
>>41746525
Put two 2.5kg/5lbs plates on the ground behind you when you are at the racked bar. They should the same width as your stance when you squat.

After you pick up the bar, step back and put only your heels on the plates.

Squat as your normally would, but focus more on shifting the weight on the heels of your feet.
