So, last year I fucked up my shoulder pretty badly. I partially tore my tendon and torn my labrum making a type II SLAP tear.

Doctors told me to get off the gym for a couple months but after a month I came back training with 1kg dumbells and right now (9 months later) I am training almost like before.

Thing is some days I have this pain on my shoulder or I have to really warm up to avoid pain. And I'm always afraid that I'll do a bad movement.

Thing is, as I'm training and the pain is only some days. It is worth the surgery? Anyone here has the same injury?

don't ask /fit ask a doctor. I promise you none of us are medical experts who specialize in tendon afflictions. Even if one of us was, you'd have no way of knowing. Just literally schedule an appointment and have a chat.
>>
>>41787746
Went to two doctors. One told me to stop all sports-related activiy and go into surgery, another, specialized in sports injuries told me that the only way to fully stop the pain is surgery but that it's up to me, that if I can train now I can keep on going and it's not going to get worse.
>>
>>two doctors tell you to get surgery

Why even go to them if you're not going to listen?
You should do the surgery yourself though. Don't want them fucking it up

I need advice!

I'm a 29 year old male and I'm very skinny, I've been trying to gain mass for years, I want to take the measures necessary with my food to bulk up but most of these weight gain diets for skinny guys require so much sugar consumption and I want to gain mass but stay as "Healthy" as possible.

Is there any way to get the calories I need and bulk up while trying to not have much sugar and keep my cholesterol healthy?

I don't eat much sugar I also don't drink alcohol.. I'm trying to live a clean healthy life-style but the men in my family are prone to high cholesterol and heart disease so I keep the sugar and cholesterol to a minimum and drink plenty of water.

Any advice on food?

Is there any good way to have a phone on your person while running? I just want to listen to music while running...

maybe I should just get an mp3 player to clip on my shorts or something.

So all this time I've been under the impression that being in the gym burns calories, more weight on the bar burns more calories, and thus a higher volume and higher frequency is best for not being skinnyfat

But now I'm starting to realise that any 5x5 program like SL or SS is actually building muscle, which burns more calories AT REST. So effectively, instead of burning a shitload of calories (which actually isn't all that many) in the gym every day, you build muscles so you can burn a shitload of calories when you're NOT in the gym.

Kind of like investing in shares

SL 5x5 here I come

Hey there /fit/. Looking for someone else to create a workout routine for me. Every time I create one I end up breaking it or slowly modifying it to become easier. I essentially have the same aesthetics and body frame as Tom Hardy, except I'm out of shape. Whenever someone actually assigns me a routine, I stick to it. Here are some stats:

>19
>6ft
>210lbs (goal is 200)

Also diet advice would be welcome, but this is mainly for establishing a routine program.

First things first, you can only make your muscles bigger or smaller. You cannot change the shape only the proportions of certain muscles in relation to others; keep that in mind if you look at yourself in the mirror and don't resemble Hardy, which is the higher probability.

With that said, if you can't follow a program without slacking I don't see how someone else making a program for you is a solution. If you just want to stick to something you didn't do, just pick any cookie cutter program. Madcow, Lyle's Generic Bulking or pick anything done by the 3DMJ team.

So as to not be too much of a dick, this is 3DMJ's Alberto Nuñez' intermediate program:

Upper (Light)
* Dumbbell incline Press: 4-6 x 6-10
* Horizontal Row: 2-3 x 6-10
* Press: 2-3 x 6-10
* Horizontal Row: 2-3 x 12-15
* Flies: 2-3 x 12-15
* Tricep Extension: 2-3 x 12-15
* Bicep Curl: 2-3 x 12-15
Lower (Heavy)
* Squat: 3-5 x 3-5
* Deadlift: 3-5 x 3-5
* Leg Curl: 2-3 x 6-10
* Calf Raise: 4-6 x 6-10
Upper (Heavy)
* Bench Press: 3-5 x 3-5
* Horizontal Row: 3-5 x 3-5
* Chest Press: 2-3 x 5-6
* Vertical Row: 2-3 x 8-12
* Lateral Raises: 2-3 x 8-12
Lower (Light)
* Squat: 4-6 x 8-12
* Single Leg Work: 2-3 x 6-10
* Calf Raise: 4-6 x 6-10
* Leg Press: 2-3 x 12-15
* Calf Raise: 2-3 x 6-10
* Leg Extension: 2-3 x 12-15
* Leg Curl: 2-3 x 12-15

If you don't like this one, apparently Candito's LP is similar and many seem to like it.

Anyone else here live their life for fitness? These days I get up in the morning thinking about my workout later, browse /fit/ for hours among other shit, maybe go to class if I feel like it and then hit the gym. Once a week there'll be an opportunity to go out, I'll get smashed and go back to rhythm of living this life.
