The one thing everyone on /fit/ fails to realise is how important being lean is for having that "aesthetic" look.
You guys fight about routines constantly, but you don't get it, you just don't get it.
Someone who is on a horrible routine for 5 years who is 10% bodyfat is going to simply look 100x better than someone whose been lifting for 10 years on the most optimal routine in existence if they're 20% bodyfat.
You guys fail to understand how much of a difference it makes being 10% compared to 20% bodyfat. You guys fail to understand how this is even more of an important issue for naturals, because enhance guys can carry the higher bodyfat percentages better than naturals. A natural at 20%+ bodyfat looks DYEL mode, but looks fucking amazing at 10% bodyfat.
You guys need to just shut the fuck up and lean down. If you're natty there's literally no difference with a bro-split, ppl, or full body in terms of aesthetics. A natty who cuts down to 10% bodyfat will look exactly the same regardless of what routine he does.

I've been lifting for 6 years, and I've done every fucking mainstream routine there is. Brosplit, PPL, Upper/Lower, Full Body. I can tell you now every time I've leaned down to 10% bodyfat I've looked equally aesthetic on every single one of those routines at 10%bodyfat.

Do cardio. It really depends on your own tolerance for physical stress, but a few cardio sessions a week can really complement regular lifting and ensure you keep off unwanted fat. I do mine on rest days.

Really depends on both your ability to stick to a fast and your body. Cutting calories is all but guaranteed to work, fasting can be more of a gamble, but that doesn't mean it's not worth a shot.

Sure, as long as you're looking and feeling healthier. Plenty of people out there work on reaching rep/set goals with a given weight rather than progressing in weight, but that depends on your goals.

I assume you mean "losing muscle", and you do it by keeping protein intake up. I get a little more than 1g protein per 1 pound of bodyweight while in a 500 calorie deficit (which is surprisingly doable, though it might not be as easy if you're smaller - I'm 6' 200) and have actually seen minor muscle gains during my current cut

I mean, you could probably do better, but especially as a beginner you're going to make gains no matter what. There is no "perfect program", but SS and similar programs are generally great for beginners and as you gain experience it gets easier to formulate a program for your own needs. The other issue with a bro split is that when you're making your own rules and setting your own goals without so much as a suggestion from an external source, you're prone to not working yourself as hard (or the opposite). Again, with experience that will become less of a problem
