i fixed my squatting form, stretch, foam roll etc... did fuck all for me.

I used to squat too much with my quads, i simply checked out my form, pushed my ass further back and used my ass/hamstrings more and fixed it.

In March of this year I injured my knee skating and turns out I had tore my meniscus right off and had a bunch of other things going on with my knee. I thought I was alright when it happened I figured I just hit it pretty hard so that's why it was swollen and hurting obviously.

I got home and got in bed and did the whole RICE thing. Next morning I go to the clinic and they just tell me it's fucked up and need to get an X-ray and MRI and give me a prescription for pain pills. Well it takes like a week to get the X-ray done I wait a few days til clinic gets results and they call me back to say X-ray is good but I need MRI and to see a specialist, well my dumbass doesn't know shit about how that shit worked so I leave it to the clinic people to get me an appointment and they take 2 almost 3 weeks to get back to me and by that time I've been fucked up for like a month or so.

Well I go to specialist and they tell me I have to wait a week and half til next appointment I'm like whatever fuck it, set it up. Well I finally have my appointment he tells me how fucked up my knee is, they gotta harvest cartilage and bone from another part of my knee and put 5 screws in my knee, do all sorts of shit on it and that they were gonna set up the surgery soon. Well it's another 2 weeks from that time so I just wait it out.

Mind you, pretty much after the first week I just said fuck it and started walking and doing shit although slower, with less mobility and limping and favoring my left leg more. Well they approved my surgery only to deny it and tell me there was a problem with my shitty insurance company so I had to go through the whole process AGAIN. I was fucking pissed. Well finally I got my surgery 2 weeks ago and have been taking care of it and I start physical therapy in 2 weeks. The doctor told me my knee was really fucked up at this point but the surgery went well and that I should be good.

Another thing he told me was later down the line, like 15-20 years from now I'll probably develop arthritis in the knee and might even need a total knee replacement. I'm 24 years old. That means I'll be I'll be around 40-45 when by the time I'll need it. Which means I'm gonna need to get a revision knee replacement by the time I'm 50-60.

Also since I've been walking favoring my left leg for almost 4 months now I feel pain in my left hip and feel that my left hip is the next to go. I'm only 24 god damnit. I know some people got it worse but this fuckin sucks. I'm thinking I won't be able to fuck right anymore or be able to keep up with the boys at risk of blowing out my knee again. Anybody with similar issues? I feel stuck too because I can't work and my family struggling as it is and the bills are piling up. Any suggestions or helpful advice?

Perhaps invest in a brace, that acts as an external ligament. Definitely walk better, force yourself to not favour. Stretch and STRENGTHEN all muscles in the lower body and ensure symmetry. Be vigilant with sharp turns/weight bearing. I've had multiple injuries in both knees, seeing a doctor (again) at the end of the summer. I hope I don't need to go through surgery again, but who knows. I've always liked this story to keep my hopes up when I feel down.
