How do you function in day to day life like seriously? Nobody gives a shit about you unless you go out of your way to make them. As long as you aren't doing literally retarded shit like throwing barbells at people then why would people care that you're in a gym and lifting weights??

Well first of all everyone at the gym understands as they know everyone has to start from somewhere.

Second, if you want TRUE motivation pick up a hobby that needs athleticism (ie. Sports, competitions, leagues). Going to the gym to be better at your hobby is a huge motivational factor because not only do you see a improvement in your body but also increased competence in your sport. For me it was MMA. Find your true calling.

I was diagnosed with diabetes three months ago.
I started walking 5 miles a day minimum (often between 6-8 miles) a few days before diagnosis. I started counting calories two months ago.

I've lost about 24 pounds, no gym necessary.

I'm joining a gym because now I'm committed, but I made plenty of progress without one. Just start something today.

If not tap nor bottled, what kind of water should I be drinking?

That's because most people who lift are still 20-30% bodyfat.


EVERYBODY that's been lifting for few years that cuts down to 10% bodyfat will look like a professional athlete.

Planning on making my own workout regiment incorporating stuff from starting strength, please give advice if I'm missing anything or if I should change stuff.

It's Back Bis / Chest Tris / Shoulder Legs, six days a week.

3x10 Hammer Curls
3x10 Barbell Curls
3x10 Dumbbell Rows
3x10 Pulldown or Pullups

3x5 Bench Press
3x10 Incline Dumbbell Press
3x10 Tricep Extension
3x10 Tricep Pushdown

3x5 Highbar Squats
3x10 Calf Raises
3x5 OHP
3x10 Side Lateral Raises

Planning on doing core every other day and maybe squeezing in some sets of shrugs to get my traps.

Am I onto a semi-decent plan or am I just plain retarded?

HELP ME /fit/! I just went to wash my basketball shorts because I'm out of clothes to wear to the gym tomorrow. I poured the detergent and realized I'm out of fabric softener!!!! I'm totally fucked aren't I? This is going to completely kill my gainz.

How do you handle going through a rut?

I recently had an umbilical hernia that I was born with fixed. No lifting for 6 weeks. About a month before my surgery I hurt my back doing SSB squats. I mostly rehabbed it during that month but it still gets stiff during prolonged sitting.

Just feel like I'm in a rut. It will be 10 weeks without any solid training and then I'm going to have to build back from there once I've healed from my hernia surgery. It feels like half of this year is basically going to go to waste.

How do you deal with the hard times /fit/?
