Why even live?
My name Jeff

Lol kys jeff
American raves are a disgrace
>tfw curling in the squat rack is smart because you can add weight in 5lb increments instead of 10lb increments like the barbells most gyms have for meme work
What are some other fitness """"redpills""""
>>41866571
how does using the squat rack affect the increments you can go up in?
>>41866595
i think he means because its a free bar and not a preset weight (besides weight of bar)
>ohp in Smith machine
>in theory it should keep your arms going up straight so you just have to worry about keeping back straight
>>41866676
Then he's a fucking retard. Just get a fucking bar.
>week 2 of smolov jr bench

anyways: how are your lifts going, /fit/?
I'm buying a house next month, /fit/. I want to build a home gym, starting with a squat rack, bench, barbell, and weights. I will be doing mostly compound lifts, starting strength/texas method lifts. What are some good choices to go with? Obviously I don't want to break the bank here but I want this equipment to last.
>>41866548
Make sure the power rack fits under the ceiling, for starters
>>41866570
Ya I have a basement with 8' ceilings so I should be able to find something
>>41866548
>I don't want to break the bank here
You aren't speaking about cars never buy poor quality or cheap gym equipment it could fucking kill you.
A good power rack, bench and barbell should last for the rest of your life instead of breaking your spine.
Hello friends
I'm 3 months into Convict Conditioning and progressing well. But a week or two ago I started getting pain in my right wrist (likely due to pushups), and it still hasn't stopped.
Did I fuck up? Or is it common?
What should I do? Just wait for it to go away while doing low intensity high rep exercises?
Get wrist bands
Train your weak wrists. After you recover of course. Look up wrist stretches and warm ups on youtube.
>>41866482
Mine hasn't stopped for three years. Can't bend it back as far as the left and it frequently flares up. My wife left me for a manlet and forgot her Pomeranian. Bitch. Got tinea on my asshole. Though it was ass cancer. Stuck my finger up there to feel a lump. Don't know how faggots find it enjoyable. Pop an aspirin and harden the fuck up. Knuckle pushups are now your friend.
Currently don't have good access to a gym. I was wondering if anyone could recommend good bodyweight excercises, or if I should even bother.
About me:
19, Male, 6' 2" 120 lbs never fucking touched a weight, can run 10 miles no sweat.
Grab a copy of Convict Conditioning by Paul Wade and/or Al Kavadlo's Raising the Bar.
Both are great places to start.
>>41866428
6'2 120?
Not joking are you actually anorexic?
When I was 6'0 140 I thought I was king of skellys.
You're gonna need to eat a lot. For you, I'd recommend 3,500+ cals per day at least.
As for body weight exercises:
Push ups (all kinds)
Handstand push-ups
Air squats
Lunges
Any ab exercise
Wall sits
Pull ups if you can find a place to do them.
You should really try to hit the gym t b h.
>>41866428
>120 lbs
Are you really running 10 miles or is the wind just pushing your twig body forwards like a bag.
When im lifting, no exercise comes even close to making me sweat as much as (high rep) squats and deadlifts do. DAE know this feel? How come certain exercises cause you to sweat a lot more?
>>41866427
Because they use more overall muscle mass, which means more heat as a byproduct, which means more sweating.
>>41866427
>me when 10x3 squats after an AMRAP set
I sweat like a mad cunt squatting.
Deadlifting is pretty bad too.
Worst for me is that I find it hard to breathe properly when I squat, I find myself really out of breath.
I have been told by multiple people that working out, dieting right and getting in shape can really help out with mental issues, so i want to try it.
I currently have a BMI of 27.3, i know im overweight, but i don't know how much.
Because of my anxiety, im looking to do at home, beginner exercises, and how i can work up to a push up, you heard that right, i can't even do 1 push up.

don't know what you had to work with when you started lifting so it's hard to say. Going on just this pic alone, I'd say get more muscular otherwise when you get down to whatever weight you have in mind, you won't have much to show.
>>41866205
How tall are you and what is your weight? You should be around 19 BMI before you start lifting.
Hi /fit/ first let me start off by saying you guys are by far the only people I can really confide in, I'm honestly deeply depressed over some stupid shit that will take to long to explain so I'll make this short, what do you guys do to deal with crippling depression? What lifts or hobbies do you guys do to cope with it? Thanks again /fit/
Post your body /fit/.
Mesomorph masterrace here.

Wrong just look at the picture. That's enough proof.
Somatotypes don't real.
Don't be delusional.
I know this thread has been started hundred times but I haven't been on 4chan for two years.
In short, how do you /fit/ guys have gotten over the "locker room" anxiety. You know what I'm talking about. Changing yourself in the locker rooms at the gym when there are people around. I'm usually comfortable with nudity but when it comes to chaning after a shower I always feel super stressed of my towel not accidentally falling. So yeah. Any tips?
>pic unrelated
Maybe dont get nude at the gym? Literally shower at home dude
>>41866208
I've done it for a while but I started showering at the gym because otherwise I need to go back home before work in the morning which would make me stuck in traffic and be late a lot.
>>41866208
i do this and no one ever commented on it, not the only one doing it, but do they know that it's because i fear of being dicklet-shamed?
>step into the gym
>see this take place
>what do you do?
Honestly, what's the point of this contraption?
>>41866171
Disabled/injured/recovering people use them to still get a workout. It's not for normies.
>>41866206
Ive never been injured and i still use it sometimes for a change. Gives me a great upper back and arms pump and gets me pretty tired after 15 minutes. Pretty sure arnold used these
>>41866171
>moving a car by peddling your arms
Hi /fit/, /tg/ has left the basement and decided to come say hi.
[I've read the sticky]
18 months ago I was 5'10 and 135kg, through better diet and light exercise (mostly walking and biking) I'm now 5'11 and 93 kilos. Turns out all that lard was giving me poor posture.Possibly with a little more lost I might get back to 6" and leave manlet status.
Now that I've shifted some of the weight, I'm curious as to where to go next? I'm eager to bulk up my arms and chest, but for reasons of career* need to get my waist measurement down to 36", it's currently 38". I accept that it's unlikely I'll ever get my BMI to 25 and don't care, it's the waist I need down.
I have absolutely no fucking idea how to put together a workout plan or what I should do during the average week. Again, I've read the sticky, but I really just want a /fit/ bro to give me some points on these two goals, I'd ask someone at the gym but spaghetti + when you cunts come to visit us you're usually pretty nice guys.
I know I should lurk more, but I'm really keen to get started.
*This is a requirement for the British Army entrance exam, along with a timed run and the ability to do 50 pressups and 50 situps in 2 minutes.

>>41866136

>got gf
>stopped working out
>tried to lift again, almost all my lifts have gotten down by 60%
What the fugg, should I just keep doing the same routine I had or SS because im technically a noobie again?
>>41866077
You should of known better. Women are notorious gains goblins.
>Tfw when ex broke up with me, my gains exploded.
next time you get a gf, make sure she's good enough that you want to lift for her, dumbass
