let's talk about monk mode

I was utterly disappointed in my life and in myself for a year (1st year in university), so I am going to cut off all contacts with my "friends" and try to become a better human being by reading, playing music, doing martial arts, lifting, studying and travelling.

does anyone have experience with monk mode? any tips? stories to share?

That's more cocoon mode desu and you won't be as productive as you think you'll be. Trust me. Unless you want to be a big strong fit guy who plays WoW all day then don't go cocoon-mode. There will never come a point where you will be satisfied with yourself and think "yep I've got the body of my dreams it's time to live my life!". Life is a journey with milestones along the way; it isn't a detour you can take and then go back to the road you were on before.

Don't be a legit monk either, it's a scam to exploit you for free labour

Your body doesn't really want to absorb all that shit at once. A lot of vitamins are also not very bioavailable. Get the Kirkland Multi and take half twice a day with a big meal

my bro's very similar to me but he's 30 years old, much taller and seems to lack a self-awareness (problems are that he's a nerd, not that he's s shy "social anxiety" like me). He's still holding out on getting a pretty Japanese gf and he's been living in Japan 5 years.

/Fit/ I'm starting a new job next week - it's Mon- Fri 0830-1730. My gym is 24/7 planing on working out early morning to avoid crowds -

Am workout bros what's you strategy? Do you eat before working out?

If so how long do you wait before training?

IF, I don't eat before 12-1pm
Training on an empty stomach is fine, just sip some coffee on your way to the gym, optionnal BCAA.
In my case, I need to wait at least an hour and half to be safe, and even then, heavy squats or deads, or intense core workout bring me to the verge of puking.

But yeah, some of them dont seem to want to actually get a strong chest, and just "focus on technique", which revolves purely around reducing ROM to zero

Don't buy books like this.

I used to buy books like this (and still occasionally get gullible enough to do it), but they're all worthless pieces of shit. Anecdotes, some boring ass, obvious sayings, and no real substance.

Save yourself the money, and the time. Literally every time after I get 10 pages deep in one, I think to myself "God dammit, you did it again".

I'm interested in calisthenics, but I have some things to consider.

>weak wrists
I would like to try it but I'm afraid I'm already fucked up and will not be able to do even the simple exercises.

Can't be weaker than mine. Broke one and tore a ligament in the other. Ideally you should have

Just start on the reddit body weight routine for now. I'd say get to 3x8 Pull ups and dips before you start any static hold work (Apart from handstands which you should do from the begging)

Don't know about your fucked up bone diseases, but as a recovering Auschwitz skelly, who started simple Calisthenics at home before hitting the gym, weak wrists go together with poor hand grip. Grab yourself a 20 dollar pull up bar, handgrip trainers and high enough chairs for dips. There are some nice Calisthenics programs by Hasfit (free on youtube) and athlean-x (70 bucks)

Day 1 Upper:
Bent over rows
Bench press
Pull ups
Overhead Press
Farmers walks
20 push ups 10 inverted rows - 16 push ups 8 inverted rows - 12 push ups 6 inverted rows - 6 push ups 3 inverted rows

Day 3 Lower:
Deadlifts
RDL's
Reverse lunges 3x10 each leg
Planks / side planks 3xf

Day 5 Upper:
Incline dumbell press
Chin ups
T-bar row
Dips
Farmers walks
