So I am 19 years old and I have a free testosterone of 419. The endocrinologist wont give me anything because technically I am in the normal range. Of 350 to 1100. But my hair is falling out, I am haveing problems with depression, and lack of interest in anything. I can't get an erection. What should I do? Besides lifting weights at the gym. Which I have started doing. There isnt any other doctors in my area.

What have you done to improve your cardiovascular? The better the heart, the higher the testosterone. Go for a run, do unweighted ab work, do something every day to stay active. On top of that, avoid foods high in saturated fat and sodium. Instead, eat foods high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat so you can raise HDL production and thus increase testosterone.

I'm 24 male, 5,9" 140lbs with an aggressive metabolism and trying to get big for the first time really. I planned to stick to something like the routine posted, but turns out the appt. complex I just moved into only has dumbbells. Can't really afford a gym membership at this time. Any suggested routines?

tl;dr best use of dumbbells to gain muscle? more detailed the better as i know dick about lifting.

Smith machine calf raises on the edge of a block or platform. Do them slow and go for full ROM (through your heels to on your toes). Squeeze every rep and you will feel your calf getting bigger. 3x10 or whatever

I started SS a month ago after having prior lifting experience. I've got decent mobility, having also been into yoga. Despite regular effort and stretching and warming up, low bar is annihilating my arms. I have nice long forearms that make it very uncomfortable to hold the bar in the correct position and, even with straight wrists and varying grip width, I finish my 3x5 with my arms and hands shaking like Michael J Fox. Rest days are spent in constant pain in my elbows and it's disrupting my sleep, which impacts recovery. It also makes benching and pressing a nightmare, and these used to be my favorite lifts.

What I'm getting at is, I'm at my wits end trying to follow Father Rippetoe's admonishments and I've been considering dropping lifting altogether, it's that bad. There has to be an alternative, especially since my goal is just to build a strength base for aesthetic work in a few months. I'm not interested in powerlifting and I'm not an athlete.

So, can I high bar squat? SS basically says don't even consider it unless you're 90 years old and you've had surgeries that prohibit low bar squatting, but that seems extreme. Tell me it's okay, /fit/. Tell me high bar squatting isn't the devil and it's okay for me to squat in a way that won't destroy my joints. Low bar squatting may be the most mechanically efficient way to squat, but adding 5%-10% to my squat weight isn't worth the toll it's taking on my arms.
