If the general consenseus of the liberal vegan attack helicopters is that sugar is bad and can cause obesity EVEN if you stay below maintenance calories, why dont they conduct a study of rats only getting served sugary foods and rats only getting served "healthy" foods, whilist both of the groups stay below their maintenance calories and then see which of those groups lost the most weight?
is the system actually rigged so that we should think sugar is bad?
is sugar actually bad?
can people get fat by eating sugar whilist staying at a reasonable calorie range?

>>42095091
Okay so the simple answer is no, sugar is not bad for you. Its fuel. CICO still applies, sugar does not make you fat, calories do.
The more complicated answer is that sugar, as well as carbs, lead to a unhealthy lifestyle of overconsumption because they don't fill you up. The Food Industry has supported faulty studies saying that fat makes you fat, be it in milk, eggs, red meet, ect. When your body eats carbs, it stores fat as fuel, making you fat.
It's out boys!

So whenever I use resistance bands I always feel like I get a great workout. What I mean is that I can easily fatigue all the muscle fibers in my body. What's more is I can stimulate the muscle fibers in a far more efficient manner than free weights because I can perform every set to full failure without fear of my form breaking down and getting rekt by the weight. Studies have shown these fatiguing reps to be the most beneficial for muscle growth and it's possible to perform more such reps with bands than with weights. The same can be done on lever machines of course however there's no stability aspect so muscle fiber recruitment will be less. Cable machines work too but you can do a wider variety of exercises with bands and well you don't need a cable machine.
Some people say eventually you can't progress with bands or you can't do linear progress. This is false. You can do another rep or do another set in case you cannot move a higher resistance. I challenge you to find someone who has to do too many reps with a lower resistance to be feasible but can't move to a higher resistance bands.
Is band only training legit? I think so. The muscles don't know where the resistance is coming from and they're exceptionally good at fatiguing the muscles. If the muscle can't do another rep, how can iron be any better?

Bands are safer. There's heavy eccentric phase on free weights where people most get injured and none on bands. Some worry about the band snapping but I've never seen anyone get hurt this way.
You can train in any plane of motion and in a more natural range of motion since you aren't inhibited by gravity and can position your grip however you choose. This allows you to press and pull from every angle.
My instincts tell me free weights are harder and should thus work better but my muscles fatiguing tell a different story.
Surely bands aren't ideal for optimal strength gains but they're still good for it and great for building muscle and endurance.
What do you think /fit/ ?
I think bands are grossly underrated and can entirely replace weights, gyms and fitness gurus and it's a conspiracy to keep quiet about them...
Interesting approach, are there different thickness bends for progressive overload?

Because girls are meant to be more squish than solid.

New Questions-That-Don't-Deserve-Their-Own-Thread-Thread
Supplements.
Mine are running out, not sure what I should re-order.
>Fish Oil
Afaik, usually considered essential unless I eat fatty fish almost every day.
>Zinc & Magnesium
Supposedly good for recovery and sleep. Also good for test apparently.
>Creatine
Been taking it so long, I can't remember if I feel any different without. But if one supplement theoretically should work, it's creatine.
>BCAA
Bought them because I did fasted training for a while. Still do fasted cardio sometimes, and sip on them during my lifting.
>Whey
I should be getting "enough" protein from my normal diet, and it's always hit or miss with the taste.
>Others
Anything I should consider? I get enough sun, so Vit D isn't necessary.
Been lifting for a month now. Is it normal to have these blemishes under your fingers or is my grip bad?
>>42090982
those are callouses, they get more subtle over time.
t. has them from sailing
>>42090982
Do you use chalk?
Also, yes, you might want to adjust your grip a bit. Look for "managing callouses" from starting strength on youtube.
I've been working out for about 3 months, and I moved my running up to every day about a week ago to lower bf%. Now my knees starts to hurt after every run (not fat, 150lb, 5'10 manlet) , and I'm getting shin splints or some shit. I tried swimming for cardio, but it's just not the same, what do /fit/??
Do it less to start. HITT is good anaerobic cardio if you're looking for that (doing it for longer and easier can make it aerobic ofc.)
Also it's possible you have bad running form, I'm flat footed which is common so when I run if I'm not careful I'll get pain on the insides of my knees.
A good thing to always do is to warm up the ligaments and joints for a good 5-15min before the run and to spend the first 5 minutes of the run just walking.
>>42100463
*HIIT
whoops
>>42100463
I'll give that a try, maybe switch to a soft track, instead of my current hilly pavement run. The problem with my form, is that it gets progressively worse with my hurt knees, like today it was complete shit, but a few days back I looked like a graceful deer, or antelope. The only problem is that I get better results from running than other types of cardio like HITT, and I skip leg day, and running helps make me have at least turkey legs, rather than chicken legs.
>"Anon, it says here that you like "lifting" in your free time."

What do you do, /fit/? Keep in mind the interviewer is watching you with a piercing glare that seems to reach to the very depths of your soul.

What does /fit/ use for a gym bag? Was thinking of getting the medium version of this off of amazon
I got this little Nike sack for $15 but it kind of sucks. I should probably get something nice and spend a little more.

I use a McKinley hiking bag my dad bought me when I was a kid.

At least the moving water confuses your muscles more
I have my plate carrier and surplus Bundeswehr ammo pouches for G3 mags (filled with fully loaded mags) that I use for benching. I stag the pouches on top of the plate carrier and lift that.
When I do crunches I put the plate carrier neck over my feet and put some pouches over each side to hold it down. This helps keep my feet from moving.
I can grab the pouches by their straps and do any kind of barbell based exercise that way too.
I'm not poor, I just don't have anywhere to put a barbell set, that is, until I move to my new house next month. Then it's real equipment for me.
We're all gonna make it bruh.
How do I achieve gay spiderman twink mode?
Just be yourself, anon.
