I think a handful is too many, but do you even know what RDA is? Recommended Dietary Allowance, this is a value that they think should be the minimum amount of x (selenium) per day to keep 95% of the population healthy. Is that what you want to be? do you do that with everything else you consume?

Holy fucking shit why is /fit/ against this? I normally do 435 for sets of 5, double-over hand grip, raw.
Today I used pic related hook grips that a guy at the gym had and h-o-l-y f-u-c-k-i-n-g shit, it made deadlifting feel so much better.
Since I had no burning painful sensation on my hands gripping the barbell I was able to actually concentrate much more on my hamstrings/glutes/quads activating on the lift. I don't know if I can go back to pulling without them.....fucking hell it's so much better.

There's your problem, double overhand is for fucking dweebs who use DOH grip as a way to pretend they're better than other people for taking the 'hard way' when in reality they are just limiting themselves.
Straps are fine but you will not continue to develop your forearms or grip strength while using them, so you may want to pick up the slack with other lifts too.
Hook grip and mixed grip will continue to build your grip strength while making holding on to the bar significantly easier, the only downside is one is painful and the other can potentially lead to slight imbalances.
