hey guys!!! first of all i read the sticky several times.
now to topic, i hope i get some help/support instead of hate.
i have going to the gym 5 times a week, i made a friend who used to be fit but life happened and he got fat so i am working out with him, seems to know his way around the gym.
the problem is my diet, i cut of soda and sugar drinks, all junk food but 2 slices of pizza a week.
im cooking my own food but i think im doing something wrong... the picture is my lunch, chicken breast with onion and carrots plus some brown rice.
any help/suggestion?
breakfast 1 whole egg 2 egg whites and bowl of raw oatmeals
lunch 4oz chicken breast some veggies and brown rice
dinner salmon and rice or veggies
the only supplemts i take are multivitamins and protein afterworkout
eat less fatty and swim like the whale you are

For example oven baked chicken legs vs fried(without batter) if so how do you figure the caloric difference in baked vs fried foods
How do you count the oils you cook with?
How accurate are nutrition lables?
When you overcook red meat the fat melts away and the macronutrient content changes varied on the temp you cook it on. How do I reconcile this with my autism?

Count the calories of raw food. Better to overestimate than underestimate.

Its pretty hard to determine with an example like that unless you have a blender and a centrifuge. Dont eat fried chicken.

I count it entirely in my caloric intake. Make some eggs with a tablespoon of oil, count that tablespoon of oil in your calories.

Pretty accurate. Get a food scale to help you get everything correct as its way more accurate.

So I'm trying to lose weight. I've switched over to diet Mountain Dew and diet red Bull as well as Low fat Doritos.

I drink literally 6+ cans of diet coke every day, it has never impacted my ability to lose weight. I look pretty good imo.
The real loss from drinking diet drinks is that it is paying for something with no nutritional value at all.
It's not worse than regular soda, it's better. The problem is that it keeps you in the habit of liking sweet shit. I would move to just the carbonated Crystal Geyser unsweetened stuff to wear yourself off soda entirely.
