The man on the left is a successful corporate executive who runs iron-mans, marathons, and does calisthenics to maintain a healthy body. The mental challenge of pushing himself to his limits brings him resolve, inner strength, and helps him progress in his career and in life.

Sup /fit/. I'm an exercise science major at a college in a low income area. I have about 2 years left before I go to physical therapy school and I'm having trouble finding a side job. I have my personal trainer certification. Anyone ever have success in online training? I know the market is saturated and it's hard to get clients just looking for tips or personal stories. Thanks

How likely is it that this guy is really natty?

The day before yesterday I went to sleep after coming back from the gym late at night. I woke up in the morning with a very sharp pain to the right side of my chest under my right pec muscle. It's a very sharp pain like a knife stab and I can't breath deeply or sneeze or lay on my back or laugh or do curtian moves because it hurts a lot. So can someone please try and help me? Is it because I slept on my chest in a bad position or some other reason?

Martial arts thread?

Local gym is offering 5 free sessions, they focus on muay thai and brazilian ju jitsu. Took my first class of muay thai yesterday and the warmups kicked my ass. The actual class was mostly footwork and punches.

They charge around 150 a month, think it is worth it?

Seems like a casual place, so would probably have to move on once I learned the basics.

Also general self defence / martial arts / whats best / cost thread

I work in law enforcement and regularily have to restrain / physically control people if that matters for advise.

I am hoping to start Bill Star 5x5 this week and was hoping someone who has either done this routine or just knows about it could answer some questions.
>on Mondays what sort of weight should I be lifting on the first 4 sets? I know I have to work up to my 5RM on the fith so are the first 4 warm up, say 40% of 5RM or are they working sets, day 70% of 5RM?

Its the same as madcow. Its shit for bench. For the first 4 ramping sets, try to keep the intensity not too high. Otherwise you'd tire yourself and unable to hit new 3rm on friday
