Can anyone give me a basic gestalt on veganism as it pertains to health? This is fit related because I intend to change my diet. I was a vegetarian for a few months and I rather enjoyed it - I even enjoyed the moral high ground it gave me. I moved back home after college and my parents can be really big gains goblins who eat a lot of fried food and fast food.

Because my health is at stake, I am willing to put in willpower in order to separate my diet from that of my family. I work, so I do not need to rely on them to supply me with food. Does /fit/ have a memory bank of scientific studies on veganism and heart/general health? I know there's one on marijuana.

My idea was as such:
>High cholesterol comes from fried food and saturated fats (e.g. red meats)
>My cholesterol would regulate itself effectively if I cut out animal products and replaced them with plant based foods, esp. if I cut out fried foods
>If I get adequate protein, I will not have to worry about the ratio of fats:carbs
>I will be sure to have complete proteins and adequate B12

Bulking purgatory is so shitty. What do you guys do to push through it? Somedays when I look in the mirror I'll think I look just as skelly as I did 80 lbs ago. Other days I'll think, u look like a fat ass who's BF % has gotten out of hand.

These pictures were only taken a few days apart for example. The only difference is lighting.

Thoughts? Cut? Continue bulking? I'm 6'4 and only somewhere between 203 and 208.

Noob manlet here beginning Starting Strength today.

Already ran across a problem. I read through the guide that said you're supposed to keep your feet firmly to the floor with as little movement as possible.

My problem is my shoes barely scrape the floor. I can't get enough contact to actually being doing as the guide says.

Advice?

Sorry, I should have said it's on the bench.

When I lay down on my back and get into position to lift. My shoes barely touch the floor. So I can't get into the right position to lift. My feet will not FIRMLY touch the floor. It kinda just rubs, my feet just dangle above the ground. So when I push the bar off the bench, I'm more shakey than normal. Does that make sense?
