How are your teeth, /fa/?
>>
thinking of copping some whitening strips

how harmful are they? How many will I have to use, and for how long, to achieve the GOAT natural-looking off white?
>>
>>9683503
I've had people say I have nice teeth. My teeth are straight, I don't drink coffee (or anything that stains teeth) or smoke so that helps.
>>
P. good actually. never had braces and they're pretty much perfect...semi-regularly get complimented on 'em. One black filling on one of my molars from when I was young though.
>>
Considering I'm british, not too bad

My teeth are just fine today, thank you.
>>
I'm so stressed that I grind them all night and that makes it painful to eat in the day. Is this /fa? I've had it for 3 years.
>>
>>9683801

That is not /fa/ at all. Your teeth will be filthy, your mouth will stink, and the sound of grinding teeth is just disgusting af

If you're too stressed, do drugs.
>>
electric toothbrush is the best thing that happend to me
>>
>>9683860
Drugs can make you grind your teeth as well,
>>
>>9683886

Well you gotta find the one that will fit you. I used to be stressed af as well and chew gums all day long (~100 per week), and now I just decided to not give a single fuck about anything anymore, I don't even do drugs on a regular basis. LIVE FREE.
>>
>>9683860
grinding your teeth doesn't make them filthy, it just makes them ache
>>
My teeth are shit and it makes me want to kill myself.
I fucking hate my teeth, my smile, everything. I have a front tooth gap and my bottom teeth are crooked and crowded because my jaw is small.
Fuck my teeth.
>>
i get my braces off may 7th so yea....
>>
>>9684090
How old are you ?
>>
>>9683801
listen mate if there's one piece of advice I can give you it would be get that shit sorted ASAP

i've inexplicably grinded my teeth my whole life which has left the enamel on my 2 front teeth pretty thin, almost see-through
go to the dentist and ask to get a mouthguard made that you can wear at night. It won't stop you grinding but it will stop you wearing down your teeth. I assume you're in the US so it might be expensive (in the UK it's like £70) but it is worth every penny. They last years
>>
>>9683512
i used the 30 day treatment. made a significant different in my teeth's appearance for the better. i get complimented on how white they are now. highly recc
>>
>almost been 4 years since the last time I been to the dentist

Get on your teeth gains good teeth are effay asf

>>9683741
I used only 15 and they helped a lot, didn't have any side effects. But it's really noticeable. If you have fairly sensitive teeth then stay away from it tho. My teeth aren't that sensitive, I've felt a slight buzzing sensation after taking them off but that lasted for like 2 hours. Overall I'm very satisfied, especially with the prices on eBay.
>>
>>9685813
you're fucked
>>
>>9684134
20 lmao and ive had them twice
from 8th-10th grade but was a dumb ass and never wore my elastics
so i tried again my freshman year of college
>>
>>9686111
Aw man I feel your pain. I'm about to get braces again while in college just to straighten my teeth to go with corrective jaw surgery.
>>
Mouth too small for all my teeth, so they're all crooked one on top of the other.
>>
>>9683927
Get braces. If they bother you that much I bet you can justify 6000 dollars or however much they cost where you live.
>>
>>9686111
>>9686125
Currently in my freshman year of colleges and I just got braces about a month ago. Seriously glad I did.
>>
>>9686958
How much were they?
>>
I never had a dental plan growing up, couldn't afford anything because we were poor and I don't remember going to the dentist since maybe I was 6 or 7. My teeth hurt often, there are quite a few that are crooked, they're discolored, one of the front 2 has such a huge and noticable black spot (cavity), they barely have any enamel and I sincerely plan on killing myself.
>>
>>9687223
Man you know they can fix all that right? They can literally replace teeth if need be.
>>
Orc mode underbite.
Went through 2 rounds of braces before that jew of an orthodontist told me that the structure of my lower jaw was bigger than what would fit normally behind my top row of teeth. i.e. braces didn't do shit.
At least my jawbone looks pretty good.
>>
>>9687223
>I don't remember going to the dentist since maybe I was 6 or 7
I'm 20 btw
There's no fucking hope
Fuck it all
>>
>>9687254
like I said though my family has been literally BROKE my whole life, and I don't have a job. I'm not sure on the price of teeth, but I'd have to be working for a while I'm pretty sure to get enough money. I don't have a job and I'm incredibly insecure about it which makes it hard to me to stop being a pussy bitch and go out to get a job
>>
>>9687161
About $4,000 after insurance. I have the ceramic ones that are less noticeable, and a few people didn't notice until I told them. Obviously they're not invisible but I'm glad I got them over shiny metal ones.
>>
>>9687290
Nice are you American? In NZ they're 5000USD but I don't know if I need them or if I'm just being over the top.
>>
>>9687279
Well the only way to solve this is to stop being a pussy and look for a job right now. You can't put it off or you'll never do it.
>>
>>9687320
Yeah, American. I was pretty self-conscious about my teeth, and had pretty much been wanting braces throughout all of high school. They weren't very crooked, but I had a lot of spaces between my teeth that I really didn't like. If you think they'd make you more confident, I say it's worth the money.
>>
My bottom teeth are a fucking catastrophe, but luckily my top teeth are really good and they cover the bottom ones when I smile.
>>
>>9685978
shame u have a weak chin :/
>>
>>9683503
>mfw australia charges ~8k for braces
any south aussies recommend an ortho?
soooo fucked up
>>
>>9687881
pretty sure i got a quote on invisalign for quite a bit less than that not long ago. my mum did it a few years ago and it worked out well for her. been thinking about going through with it but right now i'm dealing with inexplicable pain from one of my incisors. after some x-rays and a panoramic radiograph my dentist referred me to some specialist in the city, i've got an appointment next week. still have no clue what's wrong. oh well, wish me luck.
>>
>>9687902
what suburb was the invisalign ortho? ive been to two consults in the city and they're asking for 7.5 - 8k and invisalign is about $700 more expensive. maybe my teeth are extra fucked up. hope your specialist gives u some hopeful news, i know that feel of fucked up teeth problems. hurts my confidence a lot.
>>
>>9683801
Go with a dentist ans ask him for pic related, you have a problem and it's called bruxism.
>>
I have a slight overbite, but apart from that my facial aesthetics are godlike
>>
>>9684141
Lmao I can't believe they're that expensive. I know how to make those.
>mfw I'll move to the USA in a couple of years and charge whatever the fuck I want
>>9686125
Congratulations man, you're going to look gr8.
>>
>>9687916
got a quote through my local dentist, haven't bothered to get a proper consultation done with an ortho yet due to my other problems. i think my mum did it through duncan orthodontics, not sure how much she paid exactly. my teeth aren't especially bad, just a little bit of crookedness and gaps that i want sorted out. best of luck mate.
>>
>>9687942
cheers mate, if you remember what your mum paid that would be great. pretty sure orthos talk with each other here and try to keep the price inflated, instead of having heavy competition like places in south korea or japan, where all prices are listed and this lowers the price through competition.
>>
>>9687989
might see her tomorrow, if this thread's still alive i'll try and let you know.
>>
>>9687993
good luck with your incisors and thanks!
>>
>>9683503
5000e of braces and surgery, ask again in two years and maybe I'll be smiling.
>>
>>9688625
good luck anon, it will be life changing :)

Should I get braces?

And what's up with the weird bumps on my teeth? My dentist said most people grow out of them by 18 but I'm years past that now. Is it bad, or should I get them filed down?
>>
>>9689102
They're chips. You can get them sanded down or filled but fillings might fall out
>>
>>9689108
I haven't chipped my teeth, the bumps were always there since they erupted from my gums. It's just that mine haven't gone away yet and I'm afraid they make me look like a 13 year old kid
>>
>>9689102
anyone know if the nhs would file one of my front tooth to match the other for free?
>>
>>9689125
if you're seriously concerned about what others think of you because of that you don't need dental help, you need mental help
>>
I got braces when I was twelve because my mom insisted on it, even though my teeth really weren't bad, I only had to wear them for six months. So they're fine but I was really lazy about brushing my teeth all throughout high school so my teeth are a bit yellowy now. It's not bad, like other other don't notice it, but I really want to get them cleaned professionally (they looked so beautiful after my ortho cleaned them after taking my braces out). Shame it's so expensive. I'll probably still end up doing it because I'm vain.
>>
>>9689582
Cool
>>
I think they're ok
>>
>>9688000
hers worked out to about $5000 paid on monthly installments, but she says it's gotten cheaper. i think due to some sort of problem with medicare classifying it as a mouthguard rather than orthodontics? it'll also depend on how severe your problems are. as far as i can recall my quote was quite a bit cheaper than that.
>>
>>9688986
Nice && cute
>>
>>9692114
holy shit, at the price i could cop them next week. I'll have a look at duncan ortho's, tysm for the help mate! i appreciate it.
>>
>>9692308
ayyy, best of luck mate

hows community college and your cafe job working out for you?
>>
>>9683512
y'all are dumb just use hydrogen peroxide 3%
>>
>>9692114
also, how bad were her teeth? i have a feeling she was on invisalign lite, which fixes slightly crooked teeth and not crowded
>>
>>9692328
>3%
lightweight detected
>>
>>9692334
eh they weren't great but i'm not sure it was something i ever really considered. she did the full system though, not lite. she had 50 sets of invisalign guards over two years. i'll likely only have to do lite if i go through with it, and that's usually only one year or less.

my parent spent over $10,000 on a palette expander, braces, retainers, and fancy oral surgeon xray appointments when i was young

my adult eye teeth are like high up in my mouth so all of my dental things were done assuming they would never come down
now one of them has come down and is still moving just to where it will knock the tooth in that place out and possible the adult tooth next to it
so basicAlly, unaffordable oral surgery probably in my future

also, my teeth are still crooked, although all the work made a huge difference. pic related is something like what my teeth looked like in elementary school, although my crowding was a lot worse

in short,
>my teeth are between okay and not okay
>>
>smoke a cig after every meal
>run to the bathroom to brush teeth right after

what am i doing with my life
>>
>>9692379
Damn son
>>
>>9692366
I received an email from duncan and they said average cost of 8k for invis with $84 weekly payments. I'll just get a consult next week and see how it goes.

that's really lucky, invis lite would be wicked...
>>
>>9692379

I don't know, you tell me /fa/
>>
Asshole dentist removed my lower central incisor and braced them together so my teeth are permanently shit. I want to get them fixed someday, but it would be a lot of money to
-make the space.
-get the implant-
-straighten the implant.

Also I'v talked to several dentist who said they won't do it.

Shit fucked my life, I'v learned to never show bottom teeth and for several years I didn't leave house.
>>
My teeth are shitty by amerika standards but alright for a euro i guess, just another reason to go back sometime soonish
>>
>>9694253
dude kanye doesn't even have his bottom teeth it doesn't matter
>>
>>9688732
I really hope so. Though I didn't have much of a choice since eventually I would have grinded my teeth to dust if I didn't get the braces.

Bonus: need to get a hole drilled for a fake tooth because I'm missing one.
>>
>>9694192
you need to floss man
>>
>>9695142
>having time to floss
whats it like being neet
>>
I have a small gap between front teeth and a little overbite but it doesn't bother me enough to get braces. Otherwise my teeth are pretty straight and white.
>>
Terrible- yellow, a bit crooked, two bottom teeth are chipped and slightly loose

>tfw bulimia, coffee and cigarettes

I've stopped caring enough to stop my bad habits and just try to brush and floss and use mouthwash every day.
>>
>>9695715
oh and I grind my teeth at night but I have a mouthguard for that
>>
>>9695715
