It's going to turn into a bit of a blob unless it's fucking hueg because it's so busy. I'd talk to your artist and get it redesigned a bit if you really want it. They can design it so it works as a tattoo.

Simple works best for tattoos, which is a big part of why pieces consisting of only black lines are so popular now.

That looks cool but it's super dark, so it won't age very well. With some changes it could make for a nice piece. I personally would use it for a back piece or a simplified version on the upper arm as part of a half sleeve or something, but that's just personal taste. Make sure you get a good artist for this one.

The idea of "tattoos have to be meaningful to be any good" is on its way out. A lot of artists have reached the point of technical proficiency where a lot of people are getting them as cool art pieces. If a piece is designed to flatter your body and age well, the wearer won't mind it being permanent.

One of my favorite parts of Russian prison tats is the spire symbolism- each spire on a church represents a sentence served.
