Does someone know a good conditioner to loose some volume and to have a less wavy look
Because I have a 20 feet high mass of hair when I wake up, kind of difficult to style and not "curly" enough to adopt the full curly style

How to get this texture/style after showering? I always end up either frizzy or very wet looking all day, can never get it to be curly natural look

help pls
>>
>>9643133
Blow dry it with the black people hair stuff called "sportin waves"
>>
>>9643196
real? google just shows a bunch of nigs no hair using it..
>>
>>9642956
Don't make it wet once you've washed it and only comb it with your fingers. Will be curly tier in 2 days.
>>
>>9643237
Is that for this >>9643133 ?
>>
>>9643261
Yeh, It should work for most of these hairtypes I suppose.
Try to let your natural scalp oils do it's work. Basically like no-poo but without the retarded baking soda/vinegar shit.

Try to keep your hair(especially the roots) dry when showering by tying it up or using a shower cap. Making it wet daily without actually rinsing or washing makes it look and feel nasty.

You'll still have to shampoo your hair sometimes, and it won't look as good for like two days after but that's fine. You can speed up the process by manually combing the scalp oils through your hair with your fingers and I usually make my hair wet once the day after washing it and that keeps frizz down.

Whats the difference between making your hair wet and rinsing it?

And when my hair is wet, should I dry it any particular way to make it into more individual curls? My hair right now is just kinda frizzy all the time, especially at the front

Sorry if those are dumb questions, new to this shit

Rinsing you actually massage your scalp and spread the oils to the tips of your hair. If you'd just wet your hair the oils would stay clump at the roots.

You can twirl your hair with your fingers when your hair is still wet so the hair sticks together in a rotary way. reduces the frizz because there are less solitary hairs jumping around and it enhances curls dramatically. But with long hair it can take a long time so I didn't bother anymore.

I'm happy to share these things man, took me ages to figure my hair out.

Most (white) men don't know the power of the curly hair. Ever since i let my hair grew and started taking good care of it, i've lost count of how much compliments i received about it. Girls love it, they find it cute. What one of them said is true: most guys with curly hair don't know how to take care of it, so they either shave it or leave it unkempt aka a frizzy mess.

Don't fight the curls: embrace it curly bros

>>
What do you guys do when you have little time in the morning?

When I wake up, my hair always is an absolute mess and it can only be fixed by washing it. But because it takes an hour to dry after washing, I sometimes have to go out with wet hair.

Most people swear by the no-poo, but my scalp is itchy and bound to produce dandruff with it so i use ketokonazole shampoo twice a week, and my hair is way better this way than with no-poo.

Other than that, i condition my hair every other day; i've tried cheap conditioners and expensive ones, but the results were mostly the same, so i don't bother getting high-end stuff anymore. But you should try and experiment what suits you best. And rinse your hair with cold water, avoid hot water.

After shower, it's good to avoid towel-drying but most of the time i'm in a hurry so i can't help but dry it quickly. It helps if you use a microfiber towel or a cotton shirt, it causes less frizz than regular towels. But if you have time just let it air dry, it makes a difference.

The most important IMHO is the product you use after it, leave-in conditioners and pomades is what gives your curly hair these nice textures you see in those pictures. Right now i'm just using some cheap gatsby grunge mat and it works well but i'd like to know from other curly anons what they use because i'm lacking knowledge in this area

It's hit or miss; there are days my hair feels absolutely amazing without anything, others it just gets frizzy as hell. With products i get more predictable and consistent results, but yeah i get what you're saying.

Actually, this is pretty cool, I'd personally go with the fro.
Just try to make it frizz a little less. (Don't towel-dry, avoid hot water and use shampoo and conditioner designed for curly hair.)
>>

>your hair will never be this fabolous
>>
>>9643554
why avoid hot water? i don't want to take cold showers anon :c
>>
>>9646278
It causes frizz, just take a warm shower without the water touching your hair and then stop being a pussy for half a minute when you rinse your hair.
>>
>>9646286
ok i'll try it but the thing is i use a conditioner in the shower at the beginning then rinse it out at the the end of my shower because it makes my hair silky smooth then I'll put more in, comb my hair so it's somewhat straight and smooth, then add clay pomade to style it...

should i skip putting the conditioner back in after the first rinse? I'm definitely going to try the white t-shirt for drying instead of my normal towel from now on though!
>>

Anyone know a good mousse to go to for curly hair I need my hair to flow more, just kind of bunches up.
>>
>>9649635

use a light weight conditioner to co wash your hair. i use aveda rosemary mint conditioner (suave makes a knock off of it). try using aveda phomolient or flax seed aloe gel directly after getting out of the shower. don't rough your hair with a towel. just dab it until your hair isn't completely dripping wet. apply the mousse or gel to the very wet hair, finger style it and allow to air dry.

i'm sure there are other products that work well and aren't harsh for hair... i just have aveda products readily available to me as my wife works at an aveda salon.
>>
>>9649682
Thanks a lot. Might get that suave version for cheapness sake. I'm gonna look into different mousse products.
>>
I'm mixed with shit tier hair but I'm learning how this shit works after 20+ years.

Shampooing/conditioning seems to be largely irrelevant in how my curls turn out. The biggest factor is drying. If I use anything to dry it at all my curls will be less compact and more likely to be frizzy.

No towel/no blow dry confirmed GOAT. When it's like 90% dry I can start molding my curls how I want with my fingers and it turns out looking pretty good when it's 100% dry.

I leave mine unkempt and still get compliments. I use some kind of shampoo that says it's for "normal to oily hair" and I don't usually do anything else to it. Friends describe it as a jewfro but I don't think it's quite curly or long enough for a legit one. I'll be honest, I like it as it is, but what could I possibly do to make it cooler?

this is the first picture in this thread of actual curly hair
>>
>>9644215
just because ur hair is curlier than theirs, doesnt mean theirs isnt curly too. sorry, but ur not special.

as far as ur question, i've heard that shampoo/condition comb while wet, scrunch with towel to remove excess water (DO NOT RUB DRY, DO NOT COMB AFTER SCRUNCH) then sea salt spray and leave alone had good results. i would personally pull back into a cloth hairband or all the way back in a ponytail with ur hair, as it is similar to mine and that is what i do, minus the sea salt spray, which i think is for curl definition. compliments galore.
>>
>>9653963
>>9644215
also cold water rinse after u condition
>>
>>9653963
>>9644215
I can't stress how great it is to just pull my hair back with those big $1 cloth hairband things. I like to use a white one to contrast my dark hair color. As someone with excruciatingly curly hair, being comfortable with my mid-length megacurls is unique enough to set me apart from my friends and gets me noticed very often. 100% love the way it looks pulled away from my face, but I don't keep it in a ponytail. I used to straighten it when I was much younger, but curly hair has tons of character. Best choice I ever made, going natural when I hit 20.
>>
>>9646377
Comb through the ends first, and work your way up the length so you don't end up snagging and pulling your hair too much. You comb in a downward motion, down the hair shaft. Use fingers or a wide tooth comb if you have curly hair, and do it while it's wet. Brushing curly hair when it's dry breaks the curl formation and can make it frizzy.

>>

I let it self dry for a little bit and then smear some shaping goo (that doesn't get stale and stuff) in so it stays like that. Basically self drying really gets the curls going for me at least.

>>
>>9646267
I usually press-dry my hair with a towel. Is there any other way?
>>
>>9653963
Haha, I guess I did come off as arrogant but I guess "curly" is a relative word. Most of the pictures I see here are of men with what I would consider to be "wavy" hair. If you had completely smooth and straight hair, you might look at someone with "wavy" hair and consider it "curly." At any rate, I know I'm not a special little snowflake for having exceedingly curly hair.

Thanks for the hair care tips though! The battle between frizz and myself is a never-ending struggle. I have never tried a sea salt spray but is that something you make at home or is it a product?
>>
>>9655707
product - you can pick it up from amazon or a drug store (boots if you're in the uk).

if you are using dax or a similar pomade, do you have to wash it out after a day or so or does it still look good after a couple of days?

Been using wax on and off and it looks like crap after one night sleeping with it in.
>>
can anyone advise on an oil vs sea salt - which produces best results and requires less maintenance to use?
>>
>>9655760
Sorry I can't help, other than conditioner with a monthly shampoo I don't use any product, mostly because I'm a lazy ass hole.

I'd be willing to give a sea salt spray a shot though; it doesn't sound too unnatural.
>>

>>
>>9643133

Love how this cut look in this pic to death but as someone with this same hair type I guarantee that it looks like shit from the front.

I've seen lots of people saying this idk why. Looks good from the front too. Not as good as the side view but that doesn't mean it's bad

You'll look fine. Make sure it's a good suit, start early so you can spend about 15-30 mins making goddamn sure your hair is on point before you leave home, and you'll be fine.

curly hair makes it look incredibly lop sided if you comb it towards one side and if you leave it in the middle it flops out like some sort of broccoli head.

It looks fine, but when you start to really look, it looks off

I'll have to try the no hot showers thing. My hair curls pretty well but it's always frizzy. Thanks, anon.

This is almost exactly what my hair does; it stays pretty straight until it reaches a certain length then just goes absolutely batshit. Wish I had more curls tbh.

So I don't know if my hair counts as curly/wavy, but I desperately need some help.

Pic is it in various states over the past couple years or so and I just have no idea what the fuck to do with it. It seems to curl some when it gets longer, which is why I'm coming here, but it's also very coarse and prone to getting ridiculously poofy and fro like, which you can see in several pics. When it's longer, once it get into place, it's very difficult to move and get out of place, unless I want to experience maximum poofage. I know the obvious solution is just to keep it short, but I've never liked how I look with short hair, so if there's any suggestion on styles, or routines I'd greatly appreciate it.

have you tried semen-staining your hair?

Anyone has any experience with John Frieda anti frizz serum? I'm trying to grow a fringe, but it bums me out sometimes.
>>
>>9676154
I use it, though not for individual areas like a fringe, just for all of my hair and I really like it. It helps with frizz quite a bit in my experience and my friend who has a large fro swears by their products.

Anyone have any advice for dealing with flattened curls? I'll wake up in the morning and the side I've been sleeping on is just completely flat whilst the other side is a bunch of large ringlet curls (particularly if I've had a shower the night before)
>>

no no, I heard that only works with mountaintops
>>
>>9675768
no poo
cut sides & back shorter than top

just wet the area that goes flat and reform the curls by geling... let air dry. i always shower at night and have to deal with this same problem in the morning.
