No.
>>
>>9504209
Poor non-/fa/ college fag here.
I've been operating on a budget of around $250 for the last two years.
~50 a pile of black pants on clearance from the supermarket.
~100 Hat, scarf, dry cleaning my coat
~25 Tennis Shoes
~75 Business casual shirts and sweaters from thrift store.
So that's about $10 a month.
>>
I organize my money around necessary things and savings, with around 150$ in free spending money every month, which is either saved for the next month or spent on food/clothes/etc.Currently have 80$ which will be used on a trip to LA on Saturday or for my girlfriend or whatever.
>>
>>9504268
>buying more than one high end loafer
Confirmed bad taste

Maybe 500 monthly
>>
>>9504209

Are you fucking autistic?????
>>

I don't even.

I'll buy a new piece or two a month, I wouldn't really count basics in this respect. Depends what comes out, what I can replace with something new. I don't have multiples of anything really, I replace things and donate the old stuff.
>>
This month I bought Blue Saint Laurent sneakers, cp low achilles heal, y3s, two pairs of g star jeans, a nike parka, north face roll up jacket, and a few shirts from uniqlo
>>
>invest in clothing

Now that I think about it, I haven't bought any new clothes for almost four months. Priorities man.

I used to take the scorched earth approach of just replacing my entire wardrobe every three to five years. I would generally put about ~3k into that, not counting the suits

I've recently started replacing stuff as needed by donating it to goodwill every three or four months, instead of just letting a piece of clothing sit in the closet and never be worn for a year or two.

I just bought three half zip sweaters and two cashmere V necks this week, and I plan to buy about ten new dress shirts over the next month.
>>
I spent 2k last year. I'm not planning in buying nothing until late this summer.

I feel that my wardrobe is complete, if I buy something else I would look like a hypebeaster or a fuccboi.
>>
>>9504209

Well look on the bright side. If you get a basic part time job, all the money can go toward saving or personal use instead of tuition.

Bought a pair of sneakers in November, 2 H&M tees in January. I can't afford anything good really.

>mfw watching everything I'd like to wear get sold out, ALWAYS in my size first

Materialism is hell, /fa/. This is all your fault.
>>
>>9505395
I would suggest not buying everything you see that's on sale lol
>>
>>9505456
Basically the only quality brand store in town is going out of business so i'm buying everything i want to be prepared for the barren times to come

I don't know if I'm going to really appreciate doign this or hate myself for it
>>
>>9505464

>>
>>9505471
You're a real pissy guy huh.
>>
>>9504805

>>
to make you feel less stupid OP i would say that you CAN invest in clothing under specific circumstances. an obvious example, a decent suit could yield a return by helping you get a job. how much the suit actually helped you with that is unquantifiable. you could also flip sneakers or whatever.

but we all knew this because these nerds are just arguing semantics like little smarmy twerps

>hurr I was only pretending to be retarded
>>
>>9505043

Clothing that you wear isn't going to appreciate in value unless you're a celebrity, moron.

I suppose you could argue that OP meant buying and storing away clothing to resell from discontinued lines or some shit, but we both know what he actually meant.

Goddamn, /fa/ is honestly the dumbest board on 4chan, I always get such good giggles here.
>>
>>9505738
that's not really applicable

also the definition that you cherry-picked is secondary and rarely used. on top of that, the way OP used the word invest doesn't fit that definition at all.

you're still retarded

buying clothes isn't an investment it's a purchase
>>
I invest in clothing by spending large amounts of money on fewer clothing of good quality instead of the same amount of money on more pieces of clothing of lesser quality.

Well, let's see.

I spend about 100 dollars a year on clothing, if you include the price of detergent and borax necessary to (occasionally) wash my cum and body oils out of my Wal-Mart Hanes v-necks (I buy like a pack of 10 for 12 dollars and wear them until they fall apart) and lounge pants (goddamned 6 dollars a pair).

I also occasionally have to buy a new shirt for work, when mine get holes in them or whatever, and you gotta have socks and underwear my nigga.

Thankfully, my cumclunkers (that's what I call my 8 year old crocs that I wear around the house) and my footmuffs (my dearfoam scuffs covered with snot, semen, piss, etc) have held up well, so I'll just throw the latter out when they start to grow mold or smell (too) funny. When I have to travel outside to go to work or buy food, I wear only THE FINEST all-black 8 year old NB sneakers I got on clearance for 25 dollars and which have about four holes each, OR (That's right, you poor losers, I have TWO pairs of shoes) my (fake) black leather bluchers I paid FIFTY WHOLE FUCKING DOLLARS for six years ago.

When I'm feeling especially jaunty, I bust out my 5 year old baseball cap that stinks so heartily of my greasy hair and sweat that I can find it in the dark with just my nose.

So, about 8.30 USD?

Shit, I better back it down, I'm getting way too fucking bourgeois. I gotta save some of my income for benadryl and cheeseburgers, after all.
>>
>>9505801
>these are the people that browse /fa/

if you don't spend at least $1,000 on every pair of shoes, get out
>>
>>9505776

That's not investing, you illiterate child, that's called preferring.
