I think you're not really looking at what you're seeing. They all have military backgrounds about as obvious as the sun.

Hell, I believe the necktie has it's origins as a standard garb for warriors in France. I could be wrong. Point is, most everything classic in menswear has military roots.

That's true. Croat cavalry men serving in France used to wear a white scarf, which was adpoted at the court of France, and evolved to become the necktie.
