recently got a haircut, was quite content with it but i feel as if the sides could've been done shorter

i'm not sure how i should be styling the top, i have curly hair and if i try to slick it back abit of the fringe portion ends up curling up at the side, so ive kinda been pushing it to the left and it's been meh

sometimes it looks good sometimes it looks bad, ill take another pic when it's daytime but what do you faglords think?

Your face is oval, you could try to grow it out if you have the patience, otherwise just have the sides and neck cut shorter, a tapered/connected undercut, so you wont have a weird line where your hair suddenly changes length

Oval face shapes can wear most haircuts, both round haircuts and square ones, a round face needs a square cut and vice versa, your hair doesnt look bad with your faceshape, but if you want a more "defined" hairstyle you should have the sides and neck tapered, by grow it out I mean just try to let it grow, it could give you some inspiration in itself, you might find out that it suits you... As for what you could do right now, I would say try out some different stuff... Maybe comb the sides back and do a bit of a sidepart? Play around a bit

Make the effort to go somewhere that specialises in black peoples hair, don't just go to a regular barber because they're more likely to fuck you up. Don't think that they won't though, I had a different barber recently and I didn't tell him properly what I wanted and he's slightly fucked me up.

One simple rule, get a fade. No matter what's going on with your hair, a fade will improve it every time, make sure they don't take it up too high though, only until where your head starts to curve inwards.

I reckon you could probably just get a fade, a shape up, and chuck some curl activator in your hair and it'd look so much better.

Pic is a decent hairstyle that you could probably wear (just ask for a high top fade if you want it, sorry for low res)

Certainly not. I'd just say get the front cut a tad longer after everything's said and done and spend a little time working it before you go out. With a little bit of a heavier product the curls won't seize up quite as much.

I've got mad puffy curly hair too and it usually works out alright for me. I can't rock this style, though, I've got receding temples.

You need to grease it with a promade like Brylcreem and the problem alot of people make is going to high up on their head which makes it look all macklemore, make sure your barber or hairdresser doesnt cut it to high up because then it looks dreadful. also you could get it done as a two part undercut like Jake's two part undercut similar to brad's, pic relevant.

Blow dry every wash. wash every 2 days unless you have dandruff issues then just every other. Medium strenght gloss finish mousse (Lush's Dirty is good)

You could go for either a sort of pomade or just something with a petrolatum in it, like some of the coconut oil conditioners.

I use Murray's Pomade occasionally, which is almost certainly supposed to be for black people, but I tend to use black peoples' hair products a lot anyways. It's difficult to wash out and it sticks to hands like a motherfucker, but it makes for nice, collected, looser curls, if you style it right.
