Asos wool trousers are fucking garbage, and no, I owned a robert geller richard jacket before I sold it on grailed (the pants are richard pants, so yeah). It's nowhere near asos's rags. Just because they have that stupid slouchy "carrot fit" bullshit doesn't mean they're the same, nor will they look similar if you buy them instead of the richard pants.
Anybody know where I could cop a cardigan like this?
>hides across border deep in no guns allowed liberal utopia
lets have a meetup in vegas,

i just want to let u know how much i love you sieg
i've refrained from positively acknowledging your posts since i feared it would lead to a drop in post quality but u are honestly one of the only reasons i still go on /fa/ these days
WHATS UR FAVOURITE FA JOKE? I LIKE THAT COWBOY VIBE GUY HES FUNNY HAHA
wow this is cool!
Something with such dramatically unconventional proportions are naturally only going to do it for certain people. Was there something about the topic at hand that interested you in the first place, though?
Because people like it. That's really it. At the end of the day, designers are business people and make things because they want to sell them.
I'm always interested in different looks.
I don't find a poor fitting suit particularly interesting though - otherwise there are a lot of men in office jobs that are owning this look.
There's a lot of deliberate detailing that can be very hard to read from a photo. The one look you're talking about has lots of extra details that set it apart, like the additional angled welt pockets tahta re worked through, the size of the lapel, the covered snap buttons that replace traditional sew-through buttons, and other things. Also, if you look at the overall cut, it's not just a big suit—the rounded hem of the jacket echoes the oversized fit, the elongated sleeves deliberately lend themselves to being cuffed back, and the relaxed trousers have a wider thigh that then tapers down the leg. Those are all specific design choices that influence the overall fit that you wouldn't get just from a suit that you purchased one or two sizes too large.
Charlie Countryman is great inspo for this
i just assume that i can't afford geller, i just moved in to a new apartment and maxed my credit on furniture but i need decent pants asap
i'm looking for a medium grey tapered cropped pant with that same wool/flannel texture that are at least nice enough to wear to a dinner party
you could thrift some wool pants and have them tailored. alternately, search eBay for geller, plokhov, ervell, band of outsiders, miyake or any designer who may have made what you're looking for
beggars cant be choosers
thanks, i'll try ebay with those names. i've been to the thrift stores here and barely even found anything in the right fabric, never mind the right size.
i had no success with ebay before because i had no idea what to search other than "grey wool pants"
Nope, that's you, the buyer, you damn hack. Sure, some designers are hacks too, but some are in it for other reasons, maybe even noble reasons
Charles James sure wasn't in it for the money
try googling wool pants styleforum or superfuture. also check grailed for stuff in your size. Also this guy on eBay, Re_Fab_fash or something like that, sells a ton of japanese pants and clothes in various sizes
other possibile designers: acne, woolrich, beams plus, cdg, barret, cabourn, carhartt wip, westwood, maiden noir, etc. there's a shit ton of designers and brands that do exactly what you're looking for, just prepare to search.
whatever man. people gotta make a living.
lol at noble reasons. what makes a reason any more or less noble than another? Yohji has never implied that money motivated his designs, especially when he first started showing overseas and got ripped apart by european reviewers
Lol stay pleb autism, probably some beaner 13yo who learnt grammar and thinks he's edgy
this thread is a good thread, i like it a lot. I actually like it so much im trying to archive right now but its really slow. if anyone else wants to give it a go too just incase i would greatly appreciate it.
