I ended up going on a family trip to sweden for a couple weeks to stay with my aunt and uncle, right before i left i posted on /fa/ asking what areas/shops of stockholm i should check out. i cant remember the trips name but he posted a ton of information mostly related to streetwear shops like i had asked. i had my eye on this jacket on the norse projects site since it had dropped and was hoping that i could find it. I had a screencap of that exact picture but didnt get the name in the picture or anything. so its my second last day before I was going to drive down to denmark and my dad and i decide to just go the two of us and spend some time in the city. I pulled out my phone and asked my dad if we could check out sneakers'n'stuff because it had been a recommendation and I was yet to find what i came looking for. I made it too the store about 45 minutes before they were closing and didnt see it on the racks. just before i was about to leave and check out the acne store which is just a few doors down i decided fuck it ill show one of the employees the screencap and ask if they can check the back for all their norse projects jackets. so the employee comes out with a rain coat and of course this parka in the beige colorway in my size. what was even better was the fact that they had just moved it too the back 2 days before as out of season stock and it was marked down 30%. unfortunately i didnt have enough myself to buy it but my dad stopped me from putting it back and pretty said something along the lines of "you came all the way to sweden looking for this jacket and to walk away from it would be a mistake" and pulled out his wallet and bought it for me.
honestly my favourite piece in my closet and it just brings back great memories of my trip and the great day i had with my dad. :^)

Paying ridiculously marked up prices for "classic" looks. Maybe if Hedi was using artisans to make his stuff and the best materials available I would feel differently. But the build quality is bad and the materials are nothing special. If you just want classics redone in a modern way why not go to A Wang, Robert Geller, or even Jil. Aitors stuff cam seem a little over designed at times I think. But everything is there for a reason and my favorite thing about these jackets and almost everything he releases is it has a purpose that the piece was especially tailored for. The jacket is question was inspired for Mongolian horse riders. Everything is cut so perfectly and the fabrics are impeccable(or so I've read) . I long to own one of these pieces or really even try some on.

That coat looks pretty cool. I recall that the hood comes down pretty low and close on the forehead. His stuff does often look over designed, but that's part of what he's going for and the materials are usually simple, which plays against the complicated cuts, drapes, and seams. The coat would have to be worn as the statement piece of an outfit.

I own two pairs of Ann sneakers and even after 2 years they're still in great shape. The soles got worn down pretty low on one pair so I paid $30 to get them replaced by a cobbler. The construction quality of high end sneakers in on another level to mall tier shoes that fall apart after 9-12 months.

the felted wool is the "cheap" version, @ about ~$2000, the manufacturing cost of the worsted linen version was apparently so much more, to the point that only 2 were made, one owned by Jan Jan himself, another sold to one boutique
