I checked them out and couldn't find anything outstanding.

I'm kinda interested in aran knit wear, as an affordable alternative to designer knits, which do come with arguably more interesting knit patterns and such but also at three or four times the price.

Am I right to assume that the difference in merino and new wool would primarily be in how scratchy they feel to the skin?
Are wool knits generally more wind proof than cotton knits?

Wool isnt wind proof. When I was in the army in northern Norway we learned to have wool directly against the skin and then thin layer of goretex over to make it wind proof, warm and cozy as fuck
