Anyone tried a capsule wardrobe? Is it as satisfying as I expect it to be?
>>
Never heard this term
Does it mean like a fit that will never be out of style?
Or you buy an entire fit at once?
What is this
>>
I have, it got boring after a week. It probably would have been better if I had multiples of the shirts, so I didnt have to do laundry every other day but that kind of defeats the point.
>>
This definitely seems like something I would like to do. High quality, low quantity?

A small wardrobe where the clothing can compliment itself in such a way to maximize the amount of outfits that can be worn from said wardrobe.

the irony is that despite how "vanilla" these outfits are, in your average city/town/campus someone dressed as simple as this would stand out.

Know of anything that looks similar in the $100 range? Just picked up 4 pairs of raws and can't really justify $255 atm.

I dress very similar to the OP image and always get told I dress "nice". It's not really hard not too when shorts and tanks are the norm on campus.

I never heard about this but that's what I've been doing unconsciously, I don't have enough money to buy new entire outfits so every item that I choose is based on what I previously bought and carefully thought out. I just can't afford to buy things I won't wear. And interestingly enough my global outfit looks a lot like this pic. Except cheaper.

This is me right now. Been thinking about going capsule wardrobe for the last few days and made a list of all the essentials. I could buy like 5x "regular" wardrobes for the price of this one... Still not sure if I'll go for it because I keep thinking people will think I'm weird for wearing same shit everyday

just copped this watch a few months ago. Def worth the $200 asking price and amazon shipped it to my house in 2 days for free. Def cop

shit, I hadn't copped those yet. I found a website where they've been on sale for 50% off for a long time. Would you not recommend them?

>>8594908

That's kind of the point, it was for my dad.
>>
>>8594913
why would you dress your dad like a southern frat boy
>>
>>8593343
Saved, gonna use this to shop for my dad
>>
>>8594913
>>8594936
why would you buy lame ass clothing for your dad?

buy him some james perse relaxed fit button shirts and pants like fuck no need to try to make him look like a fuccboi trying to re-capture his youth
>>
>>8594944

well for one, he didn't want to spend that much money on clothing, so malltier stores were my only option, and two, my dad doesn't really care that much about fashion, and if I got him anything vaguely fashion forward he'd wear it wrong and make it look bad. At least with preppy styles it's cheap and hard to fuck up.
>>
>>8592710

I really like this idea. Are there any more of different styles or is it just something people were making up in the thread?

Only black and white in here, maybe some blue if lucky.
>>
>>8592976
plus it makes it easier to weed out the basic bitches. girls who are into dressing well essentially cling onto dudes dressed like this. plus i fucking hate color.
>>
>>8594913
nah, the leather is really really cheap too. It cracked in a few hours of wear. Rothco is generally bad quality.
>>
>>8593343
you can get all this (except for the cdbs) on sale for less than 200$ at old navy/hm with a bit of patience, for anybody wondering. more high quality stuff (still pretty cheap tbh) can be found at gap/jcrew/uniqlo.
>>
>>8592685

Naw mayn just get a bunch of the exact same thing.
>>
>>8592647

Tldr "Capsule Wardrobe" = Quality > Quantity

"Building" a "Capsule Wardrobe" for the sake of acknowledging it as a "thing" seems stupid to me

Just take a Quality > Quantity approach to your purchases and it's pretty much the same thing, don't mentally restrict yourself with this infographic bs that makes u think "ok i have to get 1 of x then 2 of y then 1 of z"

For the record I have a small wardrobe but I love every piece and I have a few solid outfits I enjoy wearing regularly
>>
>>8596399

TLDR this fuccass 14 year old tumblr lg polyvore type mentality is stupid stop putting charts together and sht I know it's fun but there are better ways to approach the general idea or spirit of a small and well curated wardrobe than putting pics of clothes together and following it like a "2 buy list"
>>
>>8592685

I once wore the exact same t shirt and jeans 5 days a week to school for 5 months

G O M L

With this type of thing you gotta be more patient I know at times it's actually frustrating because you literally do not have clothing to wear in certain situations and stuff but it's more rewarding imo but then again it's not for everyone

if your actually going to buy a bike shell out some cash on some real leathers, that jacket and those pants wont protect you for shit when you fall.

if you've got a decent amount of cash cop a full Daihatsu set, their aesthetic fits that bike better anyway
>>
>>8593337
everything except the helmet looks pretty mediocre, the plain t-shirts are sort of OK
>>
>>8596523

they make motorcycle gear? tried google nothing comes up

>>
>>8596523

that's a $600 schott leather jacket, they're known for being pretty damn good jackets
>>
>>8596573
maybe their good jackets but they arent good motorcycle jackets, ever notice how the pros don't wear straight leather anymore? It's because modern day synthetics blow leather out of the water in terms of protection per centimeter of thickness.

Go ahead and buy it if you insist but when you crash, and if it's your first bike you will, you'll wish you had chosen a kevlar-reinforced Dainese set
>>
>>8596608

man what's the point of riding a motorcycle if I can't look like marlon brando
>>
>>8596635
you can look like him if you want, the space suit level armor is an additional insurance policy for when you eat shit
>>
>>8596608
more like the pros need something to sew all of their sponsors to and leather is not conducive to this.

leather is still great abrasion protection, just wear some hard armour underneath to protect your bones and shit

I've done this. With actual good clothes that I picked out myself. It doesnt really work unless you find yourself only in the same situations all the time. Also your stuff will get dirty so you will have to do laundry, you risk being called out for wearing an item of clothing twice in a week, and your stuff can get ruined if you have no other options for rough activity.

I have like 6 longcoats 10 shirts 6 pants 5 shoes and 2 suits, thats the absolute minimum that you should go imo. Especially if you're exercising consistently or doing outdoors stuff.

>>8600624
then wear clothes that fit your activities

When I see people wearing expensive designer clothes I assume they don't do anything interesting because they wouldn't want to get them dirty

Unless your capsule wardrobe is really tiny people are not going to notice at all because

a) most people own a lot of clothes but only really wear a few pieces they like

b) a capsule wardrobe is planned in a way that allos you to wear all or almost all pieces together, so you often end up having more options for creating outfits than people with a large but incoherent wardrobe

c) you assume people give enough of a shit about your clothes to memorize what you own, which they don't
>>
>>8592647
i dress exactly like that

bitches love it
