Are there any /fa/ water bottles?
Is glass the way to go?
I own some aluminum and plastic ones but no glass bottles.
What water bottles do you own /fa/?
>>
a glass portable water bottle is a terrible idea.

get whatever looks good to you, its a water bottle. having an overly nice/significant waterbottle isn't recommended either.
>>
>>
>>8533864
It really depends. I didn't think a thread like this would pop up, but I personally use a limited edition dark grey stainless steel tumbler from Starbucks. Even the straw is metal too, I love it. I'd say glass or metal. Just don't be an idiot with the glass.

This thing?

I have a shit ton of water bottles but if anyone has a nice looking available online one I might cop.

>>8533897
I'm worried about this too. I have a side pocket on my backpack though and I assume thats a decent place for it.

>>8533901
This isn't bad. Comes in a bunch of sizes.
Not one to put fruit in my water though.

>>8533922
maybe a windex bottle.

>>8533924
wow this is really cool anon. The site allows for a lot of customization for the sleeve and can even have custom logos.

>wow this is really cool anon. The site allows for a lot of customization for the sleeve and can even have custom logos.
They are a bit expensive for our lige standard, but if you're careful with the bottle, it'll last you decades. And I think you can order the sleeves separately.
>>
glass is most /fa/ but completely impractical
polished aluminium or cool design aluminium are 2nd most /fa/ but most practical and overall best
>>
>>8533952
for cycling or going for a walk, they might be impractical, but for normal commute, using around the house and office, glass is the best. i hate the taste of the water in metal containers, no matter if they have coating against reacting. it just doen't feel right for me

No. This is the one I'm talking about. By far my favorite on the go cup ever.
>>
>>8534002
oh. srry, i thought you meant my pic.
>>
>>8533966
This is mostly why I started the thread. Aluminum is most comfortable for me because the plastic bottles I own have mostly shit lids but the aluminum (maybe even tin?) ones I own make my water taste off. Even things like orange juice.
>>8534002
Next time I'm in a starbucks I'll see what they've got in stock. The design is great.
>>8533948
I suppose. $40 CAD for me but it comes with the sleeve and if it's going to last years that isn't so bad. Thanks for turning me onto it.
>>
>>8534045
Yup. Aside from the fact that it's stainless steel (especially the straw), the design is what made me want the cup the most.
>>
>>8533924
was about to buy one, then i read this
>and programmed using the TPS procedure. A bottle programmed this way changes the water’s vibrational structure.

then i read what they meant
>Glass programming using the TPS procedure:
>First, three symbols are engraved into the glass: the first one is the batch designation (e.g. ACK1), which allows for quality management and monitoring. The second one is a (circular) cosmogram or a mandala, which provides protection of the vibration programme in the glass. The third symbol, ORO, in a rectangular frame ensures a more efficient water structuring.

>The “old” vibrations are then removed from the glass in order to increase the efficiency of the programme written into the glass.

>In the third phase, the bottles are programmed with orgone cannons manufactured by the German manufacturer Bioaktiv. The vibration programme contains various information from nature that are in harmony with the water structure and thus influence it. This phase of the process is the longest and takes 90 minutes. The vibration programme is then stored into the silicon dioxide (SiO2) in the glass – the glass contains approximately 71% of SiO2.

jesus christ these people are far fucking gone
>>
>>8534104
/fa/ is your water vibrating in harmony with nature?
old vibrations are inefficient.
>>
I really don't know about that, glass is terrible because it's fragile, but you don't want a shitty plastic one either.

Some plastics are actually toxic, or can cause hormonal disturbance (bisphenol A for instance). Sometimes it tastes shitty too.

There are some great filtering bottles out there (if you're considering one you had better read a shitton of reviews for each to make sure it doesn't leak etc), some of which can literally turn coke into clear water. I think the Seychelle bottles do that, the design isn't great though, but if you're concerned about what's in your water it seems reliable.
>>
>>8533864

My favorite water bottle ever is the Laken Hit .75l: great looks, good grip, perfect cap.

I left it one day on the subway, though, and didn't replace it. Health paranoia: aluminum (neurotoxic) kept away by a plastic liner that, while BPA free, might contain other endocrine disrupters.

Right now I just use a boring Klean Canteen with the sippy nozzle and a couple Osprey hydration packs, which are tested free of endocrine disrupters.

Dream bottle? A ripoff or upgrade to the Hit, the indentation a titanium ring, titanium at the base, and the rest made of something like Gorilla Glass but durable enough. Titanium outer cap, if possible, too.

>>8533924
These look cool.
>>
>>8534632
Here's the cap. It's built so the plastic doesn't abrade into the water path, and it's locked down two ways, the flip cap then the twist you see.

The bottle mouth is a perfect width, wide enough to slip ice in, narrow enough it's not like a cup, and the sippy nozzle goes just the right speed.

Genuinely great design.
>>

I remember drinking pure pure water once and feeling awful. How does it dehydrate you? I thought it would be more efficient at hydrating you since it has no ions present and what not
>>
>>8534684
You need the ions, actually.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolyte

"Dehydration" is a bit of a misnomer. It sounds like it just refers to just not having enough water inside you, but much more commonly and seriously it refers to an imbalance of your electrolytes, usually too high a concentration of sodium in what water there is.

Anything closer to what you'd like that exists on the market already ?

Right now I'm just using a glass of water that I take with me around the house, but whenever I leave I don't actually have a good bottle.

I'd also like something that isn't toxic or disruptive hormonally in any way, just a good all around water bottle that's resistant enough for commute etc.

>>
>>8534714
I've seen a few that are mostly some kind of glass or plexiglass, but they all let down in some major way, otherwise I'd be using them. Don't remember what they were off the top of my head; sorry.
>>
>>8534739
apparently Kateen makes some good stainless steel ones, and stainless steel appears to be one of the safest materials (although not the best all around as far as its properties go) to make bottles out of.

Now there's always the issue of the cap but I think they're mostly BPA free now.
>>
>>8534782
I use a Klean Kanteen for the moment, with the sippy nozzle. The inner part of is, I think/hope, silicone, which should be okay.
