Not rly, it's a straightforward process.

The only tips I'd have to offer are basically just warnings like make sure you're prepared for customs taxes as well as the sutocorp service charge. You'll see something for 20,000 JPY (which is just a little under 200 USD), and in the United States that would mean you wouldn't get a duty charge because they only charge if the product is greater than or equal to 200 USD. However, you'll still have to pay 8 percent of that to Sutocorp. But customs only cares about the value of the item being shipped, so it may not get duty charges. It just depends who is working at customs that day. However, you always need to be prepared to pay that duty tax just in case.

Regardless of what customs and sutocorp charge you, it'll be cheaper than buying Japanese designer stuff from places like Haven or Union Los Angeles. The mark up is seriously retarded. I remember seeing a White Mountaineering scarf being sold for 150 JPY in Japanese stores. That same scarf is still being sold at oki-ni, and it was originally being sold for 440 dollars. :-/

Google Brad-T's how to buy from japan guide on Harajuju a million times until you are comfortable with the whole process. My personal recommednation would be to use Jauce. Never had a problem with them and everything is easily explained and outlined. Just got to pay proxy and shipping fees(local and int) and bank-deposit fees.
