e30 all the way
I'm thinking of buying a Ford Maverick 75 for $4k, I'm a first year at college and it would be my second car.
>Should i go for it?
the problem with e30s and 2002s and 911s and old motorcycles or anything older than 2000's is that you have to know your way around a tool box and garage. the limp wristed betaboys on /fa/ couldn't turn one into a proper car. also you have to know what's "good" and what's rice. you have to incorporate styles of the subculture and historic styles, race styles, etc into your design because no car in this thread is a stock restoration.
/fa/s car would turn out looking like fast n the furious
the answer is clear

>>8474492
No, it will be too much work. Buy a jap car.
early 90s jap sports cars
>>8474360

the m3 specifically. you can't even get a broken down m3 for less than $15k unless it's a barnyard find and the person has absolutely no clue what they have. an all matching numbers m3 is like $50k
#rare

the american non widebody ones are better anyways

Audi A7

>>8474651
for like 3
my 2006 series 3 beamer cost 12 and it was in fantastic condition,
so the 2002 should prolly be 3 or less than 3, along with most of the others
am i a faggot if i buy a mercedes?
>>8474655
2002's are up in price lately. a decent one is 5-6k or more same with e30s. newer bmws can be cheap but you have to search a long time to find good ones.
>>8474649
they are "harder" to ride than something like a super motard and "uncomfortable" if you're not a manlet. they are also one of a kind. you have to build one or get it built or buy an already built one. old bmws like r70 and honda cbs, are popular build platforms. the whole idea of "cafe racer" style is that it's personally customized.
>>8474668
Depends.
Was it built before of after 1990?
>>8474683
I would just buy one used on eBay, so I guess I should be good to go, right?
Also I am a manlet so I should be fine.

>>8474961
that is a fairlady
not a 240 or a 280
trimlines, tails, mirrors, headlights dash and motor are all different between the 3
280z's are trash
i learned how to rebuild motors in high school with the schools 240z with a 350 chevy (old 2 bolt boat motor) in it so that held a special spot in my heart
first car i scrapped as a crashed 1993 toyota supra, then later that week a liftback 240sx from some accident after mckinny motorsports drift team were done with em
we also had random skyline parts laying around donated from them which was...interesting to say the least
>>8476188
they look like run down rabbits
and they sound like absolute shit, sound like the have massive exhuast leaks
doors creak and crack when you open them even when in "mint" and the fiberboard and pleather interior likes to melt.
the door cup/handle on the inside is literally 1980's toyota tier crap that is just screwed to a flat piece of wood
interior is cramped and tight
power output is dismal and pathetic.
the motor is anemic and suffers from oil issues.
without a proper rebuild (half of you fucks don't know your way around a tool box or even know the people to know to get snap-on tools in your area)
you're free to talk about how cool your car is with all the electrical issues, and oil leaking out of the rear main (you don't even know what it is) and your shitty interior (nascar tshirt seat covers) melting away
i'd rather daily drive a fucking ford pinto or a porshce 914 (the old VW pieces of massive shit) than a 30 year old 3 series.
or a maserati bi-turbo
worst car made in history but since all you car about is some middle class prestiege at least you can say you have a maserati
>>8476228
I like rabbits. but rabbits are hatch and they dont have dual headlamps. so no not really.
they only sound like they have exhaust leaks if they have an exhaust leak
the doors creaking can be fixed with re-greasing the hinges as with any car
they came with 3 different motors so I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but the m20s power is decent for a car of it's weight and doesn't suffer from oil consumption issues and definitely not rear main leaks lmao youre talking out of your ass. I don't think ive ever seen a m20 or an m10 with a main seal leak. and yep i know what that is cause i just did main bearings and seals on my jeep.
I agree that I would never post an e30 in a /fa/ car's thread because I don't think they are 'fashionable' even though I like them. but you should know that all of these threads turn into "what cars i like".
pre GM Saab 900 or saab 99, I keep kicking myself for not buying one when they were more of them were still on the road.
>>8476250
>sheet metal crimp separating from door frame
>hurr durr just grease it!
i knew you were white trash before you even mentioned the jeep, modern day el camino
>>8476258
yeah grease it.. like you would grease any hinge. are you retarded or what. how do you think they get doors off these cars? cut them out?
>>8474798
thats fucking sick dude, that entire car costed as much as my coilovers ;_;
>>8476228
what if i fixed most of these problems with an engine swap? and yeah my car has a shit load of electrical issues, i replaced the #20 fuse about 3 times this week so far
My baby. Bought her 2 weeks ago. Show winning quality car

City of Vegas will let you register it as one.
Why do you think they always debut the trick trucks, and the formula cars on the Vegas strip driving on the street?
I have one of these with a fucked transmission
(can't reverse or 5th)
I have a transmission laying about, but apparently I need a specialist saab repair to install it or some shit and that shit costs a g and im poorfagging it up with a civic atm
is saab 900 effay
>>8476417
> race me again when I get 5th gear working you fucking ricer!
>>8476228
That would be true if it didn't have an actual leather interior, which it does. I doubt you've actually been in one of these cars even you're probably just extrapolating bullshit you heard from some shop talking about how shitty 3series BMWs were and going from there.
